A new story and a quick review of what I think about the s8 so far (spoiler free) · 4:14pm Apr 16th, 2018

Batsy has been published and is waiting to post. It should have appeared by the time you're reading this post.

But, in case it hasn't yet, I've just caught up with all the past episodes, so let's see how they rank!

S8 E1 and 2 - School Daze

Pretty awesome. I liked all of the new character additions, and it's nice to see some recurring from the movie. Bit of a dissapointed no to see Tempest, but at least she's canon/cannon!

Rating: 7/10 horseapples.

S8 E3 - The Maud Couple

Such a strong start to the season, it couldn't possible aaaand I hate it. This episode takes the worst parts of Maud's character and doubles them. I legitimately struggled to get past the half-way point, largely because of how infurating the characters were.

Writer's advice: When writing an annoying character, always make sure he's more annoying to the in-show cast than to the audience.

Rating: 2.5/10 Not recommended

S8 E4 - Fake It 'Till You Make It

OMG Fluttershy's so adorable.

Rating: 7.8/10 Like, totally wake, bro

S8 E5 - Grannies Gone Wild

Also pretty good. Totally not a #brazzers And we got a surprise return og Belle Sprout! :D

Rating: 8/10 tl;dr AJ's an ass.

Overall, I got a lot of nice scenes and poses throughout! :yay:

That's all for the weather, not back to you, Bat.

Wait, which character returned from the movie? As far as I know not a single character returned, just mentions.

I disagree. Mud is not like Maud! He is oblivious and condescending (:twilightsheepish: technically he is just very detail oriented (:flutterrage: shut up!)) while Maud is blunt and actually sarcastic when she wants to be. They are similar only that they are both monotone and have odd interest...unless you are saying that Maud herself was double Maud without Maudiness that we like?

Anyway, other than Mudbriar and Pinkie, I didn't mind too much that episode. Limestone was best part but you need to survive till then.

Mud? Is that really his name? I didn't even catch it.

And I don't know. He just pushed it to breaking point. I guess it's how he always seemed to correct people, and reminded me of an autistic stereotype, that made me hate him so much.

Marble and Lime were sweet, tho.

Dammit, I might actually have to rethink my score... >.>

Wait, which character returned from the movie?

This character?

She even got some tail.

Mud Briar is his name, stick in the mud is his game (literally, it is his cutie mark). Honestly I don't get what people like about him. He is just one joke, he is nitpicky. But besides him episode had lots of fun things, it is just that he lowers the sum of the parts. He is that annoying.

And Silverstream wasn't in the movie. She is Skystar's cousin, an obvious replacement because they couldn't get movie actors to be in the show. Or didn't want? Unless Silverstream was in background of the movie?

Oh, you're right! I was thinking of Princess Skystar. They're practically the same character, though. Both of them are weirdly energetic and have a fondness for clams/stairs.

Suspiciously similar substitute. But well they are related, Queen Novo is Silverstream's aunt. Just imagine when Silverstream and Skystar are together. Don't think anyone will get a chance to talk with two of them.

XD

Sounds like what'd happen with two Lyras (or Lyra and her sister, Belle Sprout). ((Totally not a segue-way into my next fic))

That is either Bon Bon's greatest dream or a nightmare.

4841592
Definitely a nightmare I mean, yeeeees?
