I just got inspired by a fic that has it’s own breed of unique ponies. So the energy ponies are more powerful than alicorns . They look like average ponies with cutie marks when in their neutral state. They are born with their embodiment ex: if their named Candy 
well it’s self explanatory. They are not gods so they can die but they can reincarnate when a couple decide to name their foal after them . Two energy ponies can not have the same name at the same time. When they reincarnate their look changes and personality but remember their past reincarnation ex: think like doctor who. Energy ponies only shows their true state to other energy ponies or someone they completely trust. Also by more powerful I ment that they that skilled at their embodiment. Also energy ponies do have males and females but a male can impregnate a male a female can impregnate a female. The way they conceive foals is only when the pair truly love each other so after intercourse the pair feed their love to the impregnated partners incubator core to grow for 9 months but unlikely other pregnancies their are no discomforts but if they fall out of love before the birth it will fail . The pair choose their foals name. Energy ponies true state is basically their embodiment but with their pony form. The reason their called energy ponies is because they living energy in pony form . They stop ageing when they turn 20 years old.
They kinda remind me a little of the Anodite energy beings from Ben 10
