    Update, long overdue

To anyone out there still listening. Hi. I hope you're well, and safe. Obligatory 2020 is hell comment and all that jazz.

I'm doing well. Not amazing, but amazing is a hard trick to pull right now for any of us.

I sit here, trying to articulate the emotions I am feeling, and somehow convey them in words. And it's not going very well. I am failing.

    Good news

Ejection Fraction has gone from 19% to 35%. Three months of effort and support since the hospital has doubled my cardiac output. Remodeling is being seen and hopefully will continue. This is enough to get me out of the life vest and permit me to drive again.

I am relieved. So thank you to all who have supported me through this.

    Updates wut?

    Hi all,

Been a while. How've you been? Me? Oh, well... where do I start really... this, in many ways is me putting stuff to words, both for myself and for you. I've not written much in a very long time, so forgive me if I'm writing as much for myself as for others right now. If you just want to know about the fic, skip to the break at the bottom.

Heyas, sudden random medical bossfight! Wait- what?

So yeah, haven't been around much, been devoting a substantial chunk of my time and energy at pursuits that will improve my financial future. Developing a path that should see my needs well taken care of over the coming decades. Making my debts and financial worries more tractable, getting things to where I feel like I have a hold of them. No time for ponies, cept every now and then when I've a

Question for the readers · 3:27am Apr 10th, 2018

So I'm gathering together my disparate threads towards the next chapter and a friend has asked me a few really cogent questions about continuity.

So the original idea for Fel Equestria came into focus between Season four and five and the general consensus between Cody and the sub authors was that all continuity after Twilight's Kingdom would be ignored. The story was already an Alternate Universe so this meant we could use historical characters like Starswirl in our backstory in a defined manner. It also meant that some things that occur after Twilight's Kingdom could be included or not, altered or not, all depending on the usefulness to the story we wanted to tell.

This was expedient when Season 5 hit and we unanimously agreed that Starlight Glimmer could go die in a fire after her disastrous intro. She would be Ms. Notappearinginthisfic thanks.

But the list of events that are accruing in the seasons and the changes wrought on the universe we're writing from are piling up. So I wanted to get some reader feedback here:

Does our story being AU post season four and these later events not being accounted for still work for you guys? Or do I need to account for the later seasons to keep things more relevant after a fashion?

The latest question being the Pillars of Equestria... which no, are not accounted for, and a significantly different backstory is written for Starswirl, who is now canonically still alive after being trapped in limbo for all the intervening time. Do I need to account for this merry band of ancient power rangers now?

Is it going to really harsh your mellow here if there's no baby alicorn to contend with as described?

Do I need to really consider goddamn pastel furry bug ponies?

I'm seriously asking if these later trappings are important to you guys. Am I going to unforgivably confuse readers if I leave these things out, which is my current objective?

I'm just taking a look at the sextant of my reader base to determine if my course is true as I bang out Pinkie Pie and her nefarious conquest of the school kitchens. Silly demon pones make me happy right now. Life has been a bit too grim for me in recent times.

Yours Sincerely,

Ashinda

Man keep your story on the way that you planned
As a reader i was traped by you idea
Im sure that so many don't care about the canon if this storyline keeps being that interesting
Thanks for you work i will wait for more

Go ahead guys the AU tag covers a lot. It allows you to account for the other pillars and the pony of Shadows in interesting ways if you so wish.

Personally I would rather have a nicely written story without the pastel colored bugs than a quickly rethought story with them.

To me. Any story has it's own lore and world. I have read many stories over the years on this site, and all of them depict characters differently. This, to me, is not a question of what the readers should want, but what you wish to tell us. People rarely know what they want, and if given the chance, would choose for that which they know. Making it safe and boring. So I say continue with the lore and ideas you had. And, of course, steal anything you would think makes sense from any and all things that may or may not have happened.

If anything, I am glad this story still lives.

I appreciate the feedback. Really, my thanks. I just get unsure of myself at times, and it's nice to have an outside perspective.

What's the problem here?

Just keep the AU tag on and say in description story that it doesn't take into account season 5+.

No need to muddle the story with passive aggressive crap hatred of the good seasons.

Personally, I'd like to see the consequences of Demonized Mane Six, now that the Sirens (and, therefore Equestria Girls) is Canon to the show, assuming you decide to drag Demon (Hunter?) Sunset into this.

I kinda got bored with MLP during season 6 and quit watching.... so as far as I am concerned you just leave it all out and make your own stuff.

we read what you write for what you write not for what the MLP staf have writen since you started

To be honest i dont care. Just have fun ^^

I think you should continue with the story as intended and ignore all elements of the show that doesn't fit your story. After all, it is your story and you should never force yourself to add something you don't want/like to it. We all, your readers, can be glad that you share your story with us.
Also, I hope things get better for you soon.

Thank you all for the feedback. It helps put to rest a niggling worry in my mind and that helps me concentrate. :)

Your story is already in an AU setting. In my opinion you should feel free to disregard some things from Canon if you think they do not fit your idea in such a setting.

If you can actually include them without it feeling forced, do, they could lead to interesting ideas but if not don't ruin your story trying to please us.

that is totally fine. If that's what you have in mind, I have absolutely no problem with this being a season 4/5 AU riff. Hope you're doing alright and am waiting on reading from you again.

I say do as u like, but maybe have the pillar come back, ie the noble free them not care about pony of shadow to fight the demons, but as the pony of shadow attack the mane 6 beat it with easy and pillar are capture and join twilight and the princess.

also changeling are chagneling and not those pasty color bugs, those can rot in heaven. I say cadnace goes on a trip to the badlands and enslave/fuck over the queen and make the queen a nice offer "obey and server me or I kill you"

Its a late reply but include whatever elements you think will enable you to tell a richer story and don't try to shoehorn in one iota more than that. This is already so far non-cannon that its practically a mortar. Run with that.

I like the idea of flurry heart for drama and have chrysalis kick cadence out of her hive.
