    Bookish Delight (FINAL)

    (sort of)

    Hey, folks. This thing on?

So I was originally trying to write this big essay blogpost about where I've been and the future of Bookish and all that, but... it didn't pan out. So we'll do the much, much shorter version that should still tell you what's important.

    WELCOME TO THE FUTURE

Did you think it was over

...yeah, that's fair, so did I. Still need to talk about that when I'm able. Until then...

    ELa Famille Royale
The Zephyr Heights royals just helped change the world. Unfortunately, this isn't the first time they've done so, and they'll have to answer for that... just as soon as they work on themselves.

    Question For the Crowd!

What, in your opinion, are Equestria's most significant locations? (i.e. Canterlot, Cloudsdale, etc.)

Please keep it to... oh, top 7, and excluding Ponyville/the Everfree Forest.

Thanks to all who answer!

More Purplebacon Fluff Coming Next Week · 6:52pm Apr 4th, 2018

(Relevant story tagged.)

Partially because working on the Project Bloom novella so intently has meant story releases have slowed down (which is the opposite of my aim this year) and partially because visiting my happy place was the only way I could wash the taste of the trash* episode we just got out of my mouth.

Yeah, I've decided that I just can't look at romance episodes rationally? Especially not when they involve expys of characters I've already loathed like rats and fire for years previous.

Ah well. There's always next week. For now, happier things. Bloom is going fantastically (which is good because 7,000 words ago I was actually wondering if I would have to abandon it--long story), and I hope to be able to reveal actual details before instead of this constant beating around the bush I've been doing since February. :raritywink:

Also, after having done my options research, BronyCon attendance chances are raising by the day, so yay for that too.

See you next crime!

*Technically I would refer to it as a "dumpster fire " :3

More nerd girls and you at Bronycon? What could be better?

Yay Bookish at bronycon!

I rather enjoyed the last episode quite a bit.
Is it as good as School Daze? No.

Sorry you didn’t like the new episode. I thought it was okay, though Mud Briar was pretty annoying at first. I guess I just identify with him because I have Asperger’s.

So does this count as an episode blog?

:trollestia:

Didn't say it earlier, but I'm glad the writing is going well.

And yes. Yes it does. I tried writing one so hard for this ep so many times you have no idea :raritydespair:

Yo, more best girls* content?! Yell HEAH! I'm always up for that. Hope that BronyCon works out for you. I decided some time ago that the con scene wasn't for me but it should be fun!

*I'm too weak to definitively decide who's the best, but they're both pretty high on the list.

I think I may wind up giving this whole season a pass. The first two episodes were...I'm gonna say extremely not to my liking, and the synopsis of the third one prompted me not to watch it in general. I..don't think this is my season, and I am sure all fans have one like that at this point with how many episodes there are. :twilightblush:

Bronycon? Perhaps I will see you there then. :pinkiehappy:

If it helps, I actually tend to binge large swaths of episodes at once so I'm able to look more at the big picture and an episode I didn't like gets lost in the crowd instead of leaving me bummed for a week (or more).

Been working like gangbusters for me since S6 which might be why I love it and S7 so much. May or may not do that with this one too, I'll see how the next couple eps treat me.

I really wanted to write timely fic about the students tho. :(

So I think, when it comes to Romance, FiM generally suffers from something you see a LOT of in...basically every major media in just about every major part of the world. Namely that when it comes to Romantic relationships, the writing suddenly becomes willing to make a lot of assumptions about what gets an audience to invest in such a relationship and why, and moreover thus chooses to take a lot of shortcuts in portraying/constructing them. Mind, I haven't seen the episode itself, so I can't say for sure if that applies here, but
a.) the premise alone is enough to make me break out in hives
and b.) I feel pretty safe in saying it probably does anyway.

Still, if it means a new Bookish story of the purest, highest-grade fluff? Well...I can live with that. >w>

Ummm, is it ok if I 'Squee' like a little girl?
I mean, for one, more SciSet fluff. For two, 'The' Bookish Delight referenced my art. XD

Permission granted.

(What can I say? I like it :3)

SQUEEEeeeeeeeeee! XD
(Glad you do. It was probably the favourite thing I've drawn for my comic so far.)

It kind of... did all you just said and then tried to tell us we're bad people for not liking what it's serving. Much like Hard to Say Anything, the more I think about the episode the angrier I get at it.

I hope this week's episode was better, haven't seen it yet tho.
