Deities of AssassinationVerse: Sarga, God of Minotaurs · 3:24am Mar 24th, 2018

7. Sarga, God of Minotaurs

In nearly every case of their existence, all the races knew their gods existed and were created by them, with each having a personal hand to guide them into what they are today for good or ill. However, one stood out by having very little influence among his creations except for their start, their home, and what happens to them upon death. He was so less involved in their lives that they believed no gods existed for a long time until much later. His name was Sarga, God of Minotaurs. It started when Sarga placed his creations on multiple nearby islands filled with rich metals and minerals that were later used to make tools and smith metal work. Sarga was one of the few gods who didn’t give his creations magic, believing it to be to dangerous of a tool to give mortals. Thus, he decided to set them on the path of logic and reasoning. As such, Sarga had little interaction with his creations, deciding to let them take the reign of their own destiny without his involvement or any supernatural focus to let them focus on science and invention. In fact, he created a series of storms around the islands that would prevent intruders. He had seen the other gods mingle with their own creations and while they had worked sometimes in the case of Septum Cain, The Seven-Headed Dragon God, and Ashina, Goddess of Wolves, there were times when it failed as was the case of Centarus, God of Centaurs, or Grandus, God of Griffins (at the time).

Minotaurs were the first race to learn how to create bronze, steel, and other hard metals ahead of other races including the infamous Orichalcum, said to be the hardest metal in the world that can cut through dragon scales and alicorn fur like butter. Thus, there are no better weapon smiths in the world like the minotaurs who are paid fortunes for their work. Many of their talents and techniques are taught to others around the world, but certain ways are meant only for minotaurs to keep their islands safe.

Isolated for a long time, Minotaurs grew up admiring education, discipline, science, art, order, and logic. However, due to the harsh weather, dangerous beasts, and trialing environments, Minotaur life span wasn’t very long for many ages as constant danger was everywhere. As such, polygamy was introduced and females and children were to be kept as safe as possible. To keep their females safer, it was decided that females were forbidden to learn to smith, fight, or even hold positions of power. They were to only cook, clean, satisfy their husbands, give birth to children, raise them, and teach girls who would follow in their steps. Females who challenged this were often exiled or beaten for not knowing their place. Sarga, seeing it keep the population growing and still wanted little involvement with his creations, allowed it to happen much to the displeasure of his fellow gods. As for his worship, there was none. Due to him not intervening, Minotarus became a secular society over time.

Eventually, the islands united into a Republic, establishing a Senate with various groups in fields such as smith work, sailing, astrology, science, art, mathematics, warriors, merchants and so forth all becoming guilds to influence the Senate for their own gains. However, their isolation was soon ended when the Dragon Empire arrived, having been able to survive the storms. The Minotaur’s, fearing the dragons, were willing to fight out of fear which would have led to disaster. Seeing no choice, Sarga, processing a statue, spoke to his creations in the center of their capital and told them of the outside world as well as who he was. The revelation of so many civilizations, and the existence of gods, changed the minotaurs forever. They feared the outside world would change their way of life but knew fighting it all would be impossible to win due to their low population. Thus, they decided to focus on another aspect to keep them safe: neutrality and trade. Due to their skills and large resources, the minotaurs became traders to all civilizations, good or ill, to protect their islands and their way of life. In return for being left alone, the minotaurs would give their goods to whoever agreed to a treaty which many did for the weapons, metals, inventions, and more in return. Although they would face invasions from Yaks, Griffins, and raiders from time to time, the minotaurs were still warriors who could fight and are some of the best navel experts in the world short of the Sirens.

Still, there were many new generations who decided to leave the islands to explore and develop new ways of life, some coming home and others not. Often, they tried to bring what they learned to their society, but they were ignored or outcast for trying to change their way of life. Many females left to gain independence and freedom, as even today Minotaurs believe females of any race are inferior to males. The only outsider war the Minotaurs have ever fought in was against Discord, who used his powers to make the islands constantly move from one area of the sea to the next, resulting in many losses. The final united battle against him is the only recorded time the Minotaur Army has ever fought outside of their home islands.

Today, much of Minotaur society remains the same, but there is still a big argument on whether to open their islands to outsiders more or not. Females are still under classed in minotaur society despite a movement of equally being made. While the Minotaur’s now know that gods exist, they have no official religious organization and instead focus on personal spiritual worship. Whether the Minotaurs can change their social ways or not remains to be seen, but Sarga will support whatever decision they make.

Standing With Other Gods: While Sarga is respected for the leaps and gains his people have done, he is disliked by many goddess for his inability to do something about the abuse and inequality female minotaurs take.

Looks: A giant flaming bearded minotaur with red battle armor all spiked and filled with golden decorations. He holds a giant mace that he uses as a weapon and to forge stuff for the gods.

Religious Structure: Despite having revealed himself to his creations that there are gods, there is still no organized religion. The closest equivalent to a human structure is that of Deism.

Afterlife: Upon death, they are reincarnated.

Wow I bet the Minotaurs do not respect Celestia and Luna. It makes me worry that they will be working with the unicorn kingdom when they help attack Equestria.

This god needs a major wake up call.

I'm getting Caribou vibes just from learning about the Minotaurs. *shivers*

I doubt they would.

... Who are also ruled by a queen. :rainbowderp:

Honestly, this borders on Fall of Equestria malakary, and while I personally like such malakery (thatsmyfetish.jpg and all that junk) this isn't a fetish fic. There has never been a society where females have been COMPLETELY barred from power. Even in Islam, women have a lot of soft power. :facehoof:

Which is why I'm not exactly enthused by this.

I run a porn blog filled with races like what have been described. That should be a warning sign for a setting like Assassinverse.

If Minotaurs are reincarnated upon death, does that mean that there is a finite number of souls, not to mention a population limit?
