Need Some Feedback. · 5:12am Feb 11th, 2018
Hey Everypony, so, I'm sorry for sounding desperate here, but, my latest story, "Even In Darkness, Light Can Be Found (E.I.D.L.C.B.F.)", has not gotten one comment so far. Not that I don't appreciate the likes, and even the dislikes that have been shown for the story, and thank you to those who chose to favorite/follow the story.
I'm not asking for you to lie and make me feel better about my story. I just like to hear the reader's honest opinion. When I don't receive feedback, I start to fall into a bit of a writers block. Comments are what help me to keep going, and, make the story better for the readers. But when not a single comment is given about the story, or just the latest chapter, it throws my mind into a bit of a rut. I feel like maybe I actually failed as a writer. It's a quirk I have. When I don't receive compliments and/or constructive criticism in the comments section of my story, I wonder, where did I go wrong? What caused the absence of comments? Should I continue? Should I just delete the story? And the worst question I want to ask myself, should I just stop writing to avoid posting new chapters no one will comment on?
I don't want to stop writing, but I am afraid to continue when no one comments on the story.
Now, before you go and start commenting in this blog for the my story E.I.D.L.C.B.F. please go to the story, give it a read, and comment there. And don't post comments like "Ha! I commented!", "When's the next chapter?", "Comment", or even "Can you please work on your other stories as well". Comments of this nature will be deleted immediately after I get a chance to see them.
I want an honest opinion from my readers of what they thought of the story. If you want to provide tips, that's fine, and I'll look into considering those tips.
But I also ask that no one push me to write for my other stories or this one when I need to catch a breather. Demanding chapters out of me causes the reverse effect to happen where I feel to forced to continue. But comments where you do add "Can't wait to see the next chapter" after telling me what you thought, that's okay. That does cause motivation, even though I seem to fall off the grid every so often. Navy Life can be hard on ya, and I know anyone who's a military brony can understand that, unless they're completely nuts, which I thankfully haven't met any.
But here I am rambling on. Wow, I really need to work on that quirk. Maybe if I order pizza pie from Pie's Pizzeria, I'll feel better.
Luna: Oh no you don't, you are having your greens tonight, Nighty.
Me: EEP!!! YOU'LL NEVER TAKE ME ALIVE MOTHER!!! *Zooms off towards Ponyville with Luna in hot pursuit.* Oh, I hope Jasper still has that no princess policy still viable..... hopefully that doesn't extend to princes, since I'm Luna's son.
Luna: GET BACK HERE YOU LITTLE RASCAL!!!
Me: NEVER!!! *I slam into a wall and grunt.* Who put that Pizzeria there? *I slide down into the open window.*
