Cloudy Skies

Cloudy writes stories. Cloudy likes it when ponies like each other maybe a little too much and sometimes end up in love. Cloudy writes stories about these things, often.

Longpost: What's Next? Also, To Perytonia Resources, Art, Thoughts

To Perytonia ate a year and change of my life. Dramatic? Yes, dears, I am dramatic, and thank you for finally realising. I’d even add “and I wouldn’t have it any other way” because that's certainly true. However, instead of revelling in its completion and trying to drive hype, I've partially disappeared, so clearly it's complicated.

    To Perytonia Completed

The longest story I've written to date, To Perytonia, is complete.

If you've been waiting for it to finish, and if you're in the mood for a grand, dramatic adventure to foreign shores, I invite you to give it a read. Bring plenty of food and drink, pack a blanket, and ask a friend or two to come with you. It's a doozy.

    Today and the Future

This post features no spoilers of any kind.

Everyone’s talking about S8 and movies and who knows what else. Goodness, I’ve not even watched S7 yet!

And you know what, dear reader? I don’t think I ever will.

This is not a protest against anything, I’m just observing a fact. At this moment I do not know that I will ever engage with the newer content.

    Pony Fan Fiction and Positivity

Alternate titles: “The post wherein Cloudy justifies their tastes”, “let’s talk about positivity”, or “I’m not just gonna bash on sadfic, I promise!”

(There are some words about To Perytonia at the end, hence the tag.)

    RariJack? RariJack.

Shortfic is an art. An art I've never mastered.

I understand that my latest story, To Perytonia, may be daunting to some/many/most because of its sheer length. Some are waiting for it to finish, some are simply put off by the prospect of a fic that, if printed, could be used as a coffee table.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA :pinkiecrazy:

There is nothing better that a long waited fic to be finished :twilightsheepish:

Although...
...
Rip my univ classes :facehoof: must... endure...

Edit: wow it's been 5 months. Time is a weird thing

Well, binge time!

For anyone seeing this blog who hasn't been following the story as it was released, I can't recommend this story highly enough. There are a number of stories on this site that I truly love which this one is certainly included in. Within that rare category, To Perytonia stands nearly alone in that I can say, "Yeah, this could be part of the show."

I'm still stuck somewhere in the middle. Gotta pick it up again real soon! By the way, congrats for the feature. :raritywink:

Awwwww yeah perfect timing. I finished the penultimate chapter only two days ago.

You deserved a break after writing this epic. When I started on chapter one when you first released it I never thought it would be this long. It’s one of the few stories that I really think should be a part of the show itself it’s that legit.
Anyways I’m off to read the ending :pinkiehappy:

I kinda feared it was over when I saw two new chapters at once. I think I'll save them for some reading before bed tonight.

It's been very nice to have a steady stream of content for a longer period of time though. I'm very glad you came back with this. I hope we will see more of your work at some point in the future. For now I'll just thank you for providing us with yet another great story.

I've been following along:

And stand in awe of approaching the conclusion. Well done in every way and all around!

Mike

Honestly I have been going with it since I ran into it (on my Kindle so I could read it at work on breaks)

But i have to ask: Will you do the other half of the story?

Thanks, Cloudy. The fic was quite a ride. I look forward to the wrap up (and admittedly was a little scared when the usual update didn’t drop on Saturday).

Don’t be a stranger... we are less without you. I hope, someday, we get to read more horsewords from you.

This story is something I am very glad to have found. I have always enjoyed reading, enjoyed the the worlds others build, especially with words. I will remember this story as I continue with the pony world.

I have recently started to write and share stories of my own making. This was how I first came upon To Perytonia. After deciding to make a story with a peryton’s point of view, I wondered what other stories there might be. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much. Maybe a few new ideas to add to my already in progress story. What I found was nothing short of what I think amazing.

As someone who would like to share the stories I create, as well as have them be enjoyable, I am unsure if they are revived in kind. So, from me to you, author, the journey was enjoyable, and all effort that was put into its making is appreciated.

Woo-hoo! :pinkiehappy:

Congrats on finishing!

Wonderful! I've been looking forward to the Complete tag on this for a while! (I'm OCD and can't handle waiting for chapters). :pinkiehappy:

Congrats! Finishing a work this long is no small feat.

Hell yeah! When you say something's going to be long, you certainly mean it! I'm way behind having been so busy the past few months, so I suppose I have reading material to last me for the rest of the year :rainbowlaugh:

Honour and a pleasure to be part of it.
