Pebble: you both act like hot plot-nuggets.
(Hidden Rose frowns, turns away, and rolls her eyes)
Ambrosia: a’ight, sometimes we do, but that’s different. Afore, Sumac wasn’t hurt and now he is. We’re not gonna act like butt-dumplings when he’s like this.
Pebble: I don’t believe you. (Gestures at Meg and narrows eyes at Apple sisters) If I were you, I wouldn’t do anything to upset Megara.
(Apple sisters both gulp)
Hidden Rose: We only roughed him up before so he wouldn’t act like such a sissy.
Pebble: You have no idea how much trouble you and Big Mac have caused with that sissy stuff. Cut it out, or else. (Pebble cracks fetlocks)
Ambrosia: it was only funnin’ and we ain’t mean nuttin’ by it!
Pebble: (Squinting with ears forward) Normally, I don’t step on road apples because I don’t like the mess, but I’d be more than willing to stomp on you. I’m pretty sure that I could take you both at once.
Sumac: (Anticipating a filly-fight) That’s enough, all of you. I don’t want my friends and family fighting. Cut it it out!
Eventually, with time and effort, this will become a chapter. But as you can see, this exists as a script of sort, with dialogue and a few actions thrown in. This allows dialogue to flow, for the most part, without interruption, leading to a natural feeling conversation, written without distraction. The action and paragraph filler can be added later, and everything is cleaned up as the draft progresses. But this is how all chapters start, as a sort of crude, unfinished script, and dialogue gets worked over with a fine toothed comb a great many times before the draft progresses. Eventually, this will become a fully fleshed out chapter, and added to Winter Break. This method is time consuming, sure, and this is the reason why my work has slowed down a bit from multiple chapters a day.
Doing this has completely changed how I function and operate as a writer, and I feel that it has made me better.
I like this process you are describing. I might have to give this a try sometime.

I'm horrible for wanting to see snot get beaten...
Methinks that Big Mac is going to stop that sissy talk the minute he has three very angry motherly mares yelling at him for hurting their son.
Savage Pebble is the best Pebble. She definitely gets it from her mother.
i cant say i dont miss the 5-20k words a day but the quality jump in noticeable

At the end of the day, I am still writing just as many words, with all of the revisions and what not, just not as many are being published.
