    Still here, but...

    ...still not writing. :raritydespair:

Hi. I still exist. I still intend to continue writing these silly pone fics. I'm just not sure when that's going to happen.

    A word of advice.

If you're annoyed that an author/artist/composer/etc. seems to have abandoned a story/comic/album that you enjoy, just send them a note asking if they're planning to return to it soon.

Moaning comments and passive-aggressive tantrums are unkind and counter productive.

    Pathetic whining

My employers have asked me, and everyone else in the marketing department, to work from home for the next three weeks.

On one hand: YAY! No wasting two hours of my life every day commuting.

On the other: Boo! This will make writing ponefic even more difficult.

New Year's Eve Update · 11:58pm Dec 31st, 2017

It's been a while since I last updated either of the stories I'm currently posting, so I thought a short 'update' was in order.

I read Gentleman for Mares (NSFW!) and it inspired YET ANOTHER PONE STORY in the fertile folds of my grey matter. Trying to write notes for characters, sequences, plot points, etc. in GDocs was killing me. :twilightoops:

So now I'm experimenting with the trial version of Scrivener. I'd been writing in Google Docs, and trying out other online writing resources such as Notebook.ai to keep track of my characters. While it worked, I was getting frustrated by how difficult it is to switch between chapters, assemble sequences, keep reference notes, checking what I wrote in Chapter 2 while I'm writing Chapter 6, etc. There are a few down-sides to Scrivener; such as it's a PITA to integrate with Grammarly or any other pre-checking services; sharing the files between my laptop and netbook; and I imagine it'll be annoying to cut-and-paste into FimFic; but I'm loving it so far.

Trying out Scrivener and that new story I mentioned are the reasons I've not posted anything in a while. Taking notes has turned into actually writing it. Writing it is pretty much the only thing I've been doing for the past three weeks! Wake up, write, eat, write, exercise, write, feed the cat, write, stare-at-the-monitor-and-realize-I'm-too-tired-to-write, write anyway, etc. I'm about 8 chapters in to the first draft and I think it will be roughly a dozen chapters long. I plan to post the whole thing at once, when it's finished.

After that I'm going to convert my Catch Me GDocs into Scrivener and get back to work on it. I'll likely continue to post that as each chapter is completed.

Dæling With Yt is going to stay on hiatus for the foreseeable future. I would like to finish it, but I have a lot of other things I need to get done and this story has a low priority. Sorry.

There are also several other stories tumbling around inside my head that are also begging for attention. I'm about 1/2 to 2/3rds of the way through writing a naughty & bizarre comedy, and there's a brief horror story that I'd like to get written before next Halloween.

I even have a few non-pony stories that would be interesting to work on and perhaps publish elsewhere.

Oh, and I desperately need to find a paying job. Can't forget about that... much as I want to. :raritydespair:

Anyway... Happy 2018 to you.

PS: Please read The elephant in the equine room and if you drink, stay safe!

(Me? I don't drink any more. Not drinking is a valid choice! Don't let anyone browbeat or coerce you into getting drunk if that's not what you enjoy.)
