When You Forget a Major Planned Plot Event And Then Remember It · 4:49pm Dec 27th, 2017
Earlier this morning, I was thinking about Civil War of Harmony and The End War (planning, plotting, scheming...) and then I remembered something somewhat important. I had a conversation with my prereader months ago about a scene which would contribute to the story's ending/plot somewhat significantly. I kind of forgot about that until today, but now I remember it. And that works out quite well because Chapter 33 is the perfect place for it.
Along with this, I'm pretty sure I worked out the plot of Chapter 33 and at least some of Chapter 34.
So there may be a slight chance that I may get Chapter 33 out this weekend. I say slight because that's going to be pushing it pretty close. I have to write it and get it preread in just a couple of days, and my primary prereader is still gone.
But hey, I didn't always have prereaders for this story. And I've improved my writing abilities a lot since then. I also managed to write around 22k words in three days once before... And before this story experienced delay after delay, there was a time when I updated every couple of days.
Now, on another note. Rereading this story. So, here we'll have an update.
I have started rereading the story. I've made good progress, but nowhere near what I had intended. Holidays set me back a bit. Okay, a lot. I'm ready to read Chapter 8, and I had intended to be at Chapter 21 by now. So I'm a tad behind. However, I've learned a few things.
One, I really need to go back and make several editing sweeps of this story.
Two, this story's plot is pretty decent.
Three, this story is nowhere near as horrifying as I imagined to reread. I'm actually enjoying it, which is a nice surprise. Now, I just need to get myself to actually sit down and read it instead of playing games. The sad thing is I don't really even want to play games, but I just can't motivate myself to read it further. So, I shall work on that.
In summary, expect Chapter 33 either this month or in January. Updates may soon speed up (I want to finish this story, and It's pretty close to being finished, so I may try to sprint the last segment, so to say). I'm making progress on rereading, although it has been somewhat slow.
I'm really looking forward to continuing this story. I feel optimistic. It will be a strange day and feeling when I finally finish this story, I've worked on it for so long...

Ah, the old motivation slump. I'm there right now, both with grad school stuff and with my writing. The struggle is real.
