Can I get a Show of Support for CWoH? · 11:41pm Dec 15th, 2017

Well, the title is fairly straightforward. The tagged story should also have some implications.

So, I'll be straightforward about this. I really, really want to work on continuing this story. I'm also close to finishing it, but as you'll know, it's been a lot of misses on updates lately, based primarily (make that almost entirely) on my prereader disappearing (no hating them, he can't take all the blame because I made the mistake of not trying to continue without him). He was a constant source of encouragement to keep at this story.

I really want to continue it.

But, now the bad part. My prereader is still gone. And the worse part is that I've not touched CWoH in a long enough time that I need to refresh my memory on the story so I can continue where I left off. That may not sound bad, except for the fact that I am absolutely dreading rereading the story. I don't want to do it in the slightest. I'd rather run around in circles doing absolutely nothing in a video game.

So, I have a problem. I want to continue the story, but I don't want to reread it in order to know what I need to continue the story. I had planned to start rereading this story earlier this week, but I've kept putting it off, so posting this blog is my attempt to convince myself to do it.

Right now this is the biggest hurdle for finishing the story. The next major hurdle is a lack of support/prereading abilities to make sure I don't go off the deep end.

So if it's not too much to ask, can I get some comments? Just take a few seconds, or perhaps if you want, a few minutes and comment. It can be praise, pleading for more, or just criticizing me, my writing skill, or my subpar dedication to this story.

TL;DR, I really want to continue the story but I really don't want to reread the story so I know where I left off and how I got there.

CWoH was the story that introduced me to your work, and I really do love it (and all the others). I can kind of understand why you dread reading it again, you're probably worried that you're going to find mistakes and beat yourself up over them, well don't. The story was great, and if it really bugs you then you can fix it, no big deal. I can't wait to see how the story continues.:pinkiehappy:

I fell for the premise of the story and thankfully it was (and is) well written. I can't say I know exactly how you feel about rereading an earlier unfinished work but it might help to set a goal for your self like reading one or two chapter every hour or so or something like that.

To be honest I would but it’s been a while since I’ve reread his story so am not sure how useful I could be. But my best advice first would be to reread your work. Second don’t quite your a great writer and I loved this story so am sure someone with more skill then me will see his and be willing to help.

If I didn't have a commitment for Twinglemas, a final exam, a poster to make for a conference in January, studying for comps, and Christmas shopping all at the same time, I would gladly pitch in. I can at least offer moral support. If it makes you feel any better, I had hoped to get the next chapter of Break of Day finished two weeks ago, and I haven't even started it yet. So, I guess I kinda know how you feel, but in a different way?

Hope you find someone good to take up the mantle of prereader. I haven't read CWoH, but I might give it a look once comps and AAS are behind me. #GradLifeSucks :ajsleepy:

It was in my to-read list for a while, and since you've asked so nicely... I've gotten to reading it. So far (2 chaps in) sounds promising.

I need to reread it myself because it's been so long. I hope you pick up where you left off sooner rather than later.
