    What is YOUR Definition...

    People often yak at me

    "Try better yourself"

    "Grow up"

    "Improve"

They say all that, but they don't provide actual definitions or explanations of what they mean by all that. It's like I'm supposed to guess what they want.

The same thing follows with fiction, when people whine and complain.

    "This sucks"

    "Write them In character"

Twilight Sparkle Improving Lives? (Friendship is Failure)

    People sure love to complain...

She always tries her best to get through to those with friendship problems and help them improve their lives, no matter how much they reject and act hostile towards her.

She gets disrespected a lot because she wants to help people, even though she's a princess who's saved Equestria on multiple occasions.

What will it Change? (Trying means Nothing!)

In relation to my previous blog, https://www.fimfiction.net/blog/1035717/i-have-to-or-you-just-want-me-to which relates to "Are you doing it for ME or YOURSELF?"

People still get up my back saying I need to "Get Help" "Change my groove" or, and the most often said "Fix your writing-- make it better/different"

I HAVE to, or you just WANT me to?

People often go about saying... "You HAVE to move on." "You HAVE to let go." "You HAVE to Improve" "You HAVE to this" "You HAVE to that."

But here's the real deal to consider. Do I really HAVE to, or do you just WANT me to? That's the ideal.

My getting or Not Getting THE POINT · 5:52pm Oct 16th, 2017

In regards to an online fight I had last night with very rude people (I was equally rude back to them) Some people seem to think THIS about me; that I miss the point of certain things. Well I'm going to put things down from TV Tropes that peoples claim is accurate.

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/MisaimedFandom/DakariKingMykan

Let's start with the fact that Mykan doesn't care about the characters' personalities, relationships, or really much of anything. All he sees in the works he likes is "fight scenes, characters I wanted to hook up but didn't, explosions, and songs".

That's not missing the point. I get that point... I just don't like it or care about it.

Speaking of characters he wanted to get together but didn't, the characters in question are usually completely unimportant to the work as a whole. In particular, Beast Boy and Terra's relationship was only in a few episodes of a 65-episode show (not counting the Bonus Episode and TeenTitansTroubleInTokyo]Teen Titans: Trouble in Tokyo

again, that's not missing the point. I just don't like it, don't approve of it, and won't tolerate it.

Davis' crush on Kari was (mostly) forgotten about shortly after it became a thing, and doesn't even show up all that often in the long run.

I don't think that counts as Missing the Point, because other people have over looked possible theories. It's possible that Davis could still have feelings for Kari. Just because he's not showing them doesn't mean they aren't there.

His works involving DigimonAdventure02 Davis Motomiya constantly portray him as angry and whiny that Kari never gave him a chance, or that his friends "just don't accept him". This is in spite of the fact that Davis, in canon, doesn't really have much angst to speak of.

That's becuase he's SCRIPTED as not doing it. But in real life, a human being can only take so much abuse, and just becuase Davis hasn't shown it on screen doesn't mean he isn't ALLOWED to show it ("Then he's not being Davis" is not an excuse)

This is the same kid who gleefully stated he wanted to own a simple noodle cart, and held onto that idea well into adulthood. In fact, the reason MaloMyotismon's attack didn't work on him is for this very fact.

It looks like YOU missed the point here, not me.

The ACTUAL reason Davis stood up to the illusions is because Maylo-Myotismon was using the dimension they were in ("the World of Wishes") against the kids. Anything they were thinking about affected them into the illusions. Davis only had ONE WISH (At the time) and that was Destroy Maylo-Myotismon, and that was how Veemon Digivovled into all his forms at once.

So in a way, Davis WAS affected by the power, if he had been thinking about selfish things for himself like all the others did, he would have fallen into illusion as well. But the fact that he wished only to beat the bad guy, that doesn't exactly mean he's over Kari. Maybe he still IS in love with her, we can't read his mind. He could still have feelings for her, but he knows this is no time to be thinking about a crush, or selfish things only for himself (A sign of maturity which people ignore in him, preferring to only see Davis as a immature obnoxious brat)

And as I stated before, the possibilities are endless, and we don't truly know who Davis, TK, and Kari ended up with at the end of 02 (Because the only actual marriages mentioned were KenxYolei... and MattxSora)

So, I didn't really miss the point. Looks more like YOU did, and all you're really doing is calling me out for your own disdain of my tastes.

Sure, he may have been a bit of a Butt-Monkey (especially in the English dub), but this is still Davis

As I had in the argument, people say that if doesn't act immature, or brash, or butt-monkey "He's not Davis anymore"

I don't think I missed the point, I think other people are just disregarding Change in Character. (A character cannot stay the same way they are forever. Especially if they grow up in age)

So again, I don't think I missed a point.

*Beast Boy gets this to a lesser extent; the only reason it's not as bad as Davis is because at least he has some angst and a tragic backstory (he is a DC Comics character, after all), but even then he's still portrayed as a whiny jerk rather than the Plucky Comic Relief he is in canon.

I didn't miss the point. I don't like Plucky Comic Reliefs (For that matter, most people don't like PCRs and often proceed to label them as the most worthless character and should be disregarded... like Daffy Duck, despite his egotism.)

And BB has reason to act like a so-called "Whiny Jerk" because I portray him as others being rude and brash to him first. Any human being in real life would behave just the same if they were treated that way (every one has a breaking point) I simply portray BB as finally snapping, (Having had enough) which is a natural human reaction.

So again, I didn't miss the point. I get the idea, I just don't like or approve of it, so I do what I WANT instead.

The idea of TeenTitansS5E13ThingsChange is that sometimes, things just can't go back to the way they were, and it's important to not let the past hold you back. Mykan sees this as "forget the past and what other people used to be like; it doesn't matter", explaining his attitude towards his own character in the process.

Then why in the episode is Terra doing just that: "forget the past and what other people used to be like; it doesn't matter" (She doesn't WANT to remember her past, Beast Boy, the person she used to be, or all the times she had... even the good ones) Why is she doing that? That can't be "not [letting] the past hold you back." that is full genuine forgetting the past completely.

And all this preaching about: "things just can't go back to the way they were, and it's important to not let the past hold you back."

No, I get all that, but I highly disapprove of it and refuse to tolerate it (I get the point, I just don't like it) and I refuse to accept it.

things just can't go back to the way they were, and it's important to not let the past hold you back. Is not what I want to see in Beast Boy, and that is why I do these things to him and other characters.

I prefer to follow a story ideal from "Are You Afraid of the Dark" (The Tale of the Deadman's Float) which I find inspirational, somewhat true, and what I use to make Beast Boy the way I want him to be.

"A lot of people don't like who I am. they're always telling me I have to clean up my act. But sometimes... things are the way they are for a reason, and if you go making changes that shouldn't be made... you could end up in a whole mess of trouble."

Plot: When a large public pool was built over an old cemetery, they had to dig up all the caskets and move them away. One was accidentally left behind, and the angry spirit drowns people swimming in the pool as revenge for having it's slumber disturbed.

Still, I didn't miss the point, of "Things Change" I'm just scoffing at it, and pretty much using my fics and vids to attack and scorn at the idea, but that's not missing the point. It's just not accepting it.

Clearly, he doesn't see that the whole point of Power Rangers is teamwork. Hence, why he keeps making it the basis for
My Brave Pony: Starfleet Magic despite the fic's supposed theme being to show that you don't need friendship. Teamwork is a form of friendship.

Again, I get the point, but I don't care about it because I didn't come for the friendship and teamwork stuff.

As for Starfleet, it's YOU who missed the point, not me. As I argued with these people, they seem to be under some impression that Starfleet tries to teach that when I say "Friendship and Teamwork is worthless" that means to them that "Violence and killing people is the key to everything, and the solution to all problems" They couldn't be more wrong.

I have explained this over and over to them, yet they keep acting as if I never did (Or, like me... they get the point, but don't care)

Starfleet does work as a team, they do it all the time.

And when I say friendship doesn't work, what that means is, You can't expect friendship to actually solve your problems, and you can't always rely on it. What I'm promoting is more realism.

-"Just because it CAN doesn't mean it WILL." Even if friendship is an option. There's no guarantee it will work. Like, say you try to negotiate peace or neutrality with the enemy-- what if the enemy is not willing to listen. What if they just shoot you on sight for even TRYING to negotiate with them? Or suppose they FEIGN friendship to you in order to get what they want, and then they still destroy you.

Dr: Evil (Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery") "Even after they pay me the money, I'm STILL going to melt every city on the planet with liquid-hot magma" (So much for negotiating and neutrality)

Sometimes you have to do what's better: When I made Twilight learn Carter Grayson's Lesson ("Sometimes the obvious choice is the wrong choice) Sometimes you just can't save everyone, no matter how hard you try. In Carter's case, if he had saved the people first instead of putting out the fire (Not realizing the gas tanks) the whole place would've exploded, and EVERYONE would get hurt, but by putting the fire out, even though SOME people got hurt, many more were spared, and a lot of collateral damage was averted. this also relates to the "ONE LIFE AGAINST MANY" Sometimes, you have to make ONE of two choices (Save the girl or save the world) Sometimes, in real life, you don't have a third option nor the time to think it through to find one, you have to act NOW, or EVERYONE will die. It's a fact of life, not some TV script.

So, I actually do get the point, it's you who tried to deny it and the facts of reality.

Additionally, he thinks the best parts of Power Rangers are its action sequences when most fans will agree that the best seasons are the ones that focus on the Rangers as individuals.

He's also a huge YuGiOh fan despite that series' themes of friendship. He absolutely loathes it when characters talk before or during a duel, and wants them to just get on with it despite Duel Monsters being a game of wit (and occasional bullshit main character powers, not caring for the idea of suspense.

again, that's not me missing the point. It's just me coming for what I came for (What I like to see) screw the rest. In other words, I just don't care (I didn't come here for a friendship lesson, I came to watch the explosions. That's it)

Similarly, he likes despite one of the main arcs of the story being the budding romance between]the title character and Kagome. It's one of the big reasons why a lot of people watch the show, but remember: Mykan hates canon couples.

I didn't miss the point. I just don't like it, regardless of explanation... (also, I never cared much for Kagome, her shipping mean nothing to me and never did) It was Amari Nobunaga and Princess Tsuyu from episode 8 (The toad who would be price) That is all.

She was already married, despite Nobunaga knowing this, he still remained madly in love with her, but she never knew this (Probably as well) but still, I can't stand it when I guy like Nobunaga works so hard and receives nothing in the end.

again I get the point (you don't cuz you mixed it up and got the shipping wrong) I just don't like it, and don't care about the positive points in between. If I don't approve, then I don't approve, and that's it. I don't care what's believable, I don't care what's well-developed, I don't even care what GOOD POINTS it makes... I... don't... like it!

This blog https://www.fimfiction.net/blog/762627/contradicting-beliefs has several, but a particularly ridiculous and bizarre example stands out. He responds to the idea of "subverting your preferences and exploring new possibilities" by calling it the stupidest notion he has ever heard, and says that how you write doesn't reflect who you are in real life, trying to counter by saying that obviously movie writers would want the bad stuff which happens in movies, such as a disaster film, to happen in real life if that was true. He even goes so far as to drag Stephen King into it with the following, demonstrating how much he understands the author (read not at all).

That's not Me missing the point, but rather other people being rude and trying to make people look bad over fictional concepts. You are not what you write about, and that's it...

I made that blog to contradict and call out a unscrupulous user, who used ME as a bad example, twisting my words, and coming up with ridiculous concepts all because she disapproves of my writing style.

So I don't think that counts as missing the point, I think it's just other people being plain stupid.

"MY LITTLE PONY FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC" (That section's a bit big so visit the tropes using there link to read it.

I'm not missing the point, I just don't approve or like their ways, so I'm picking on them (the same way others pick on me for similar reasons)

I don't care what positive messages there are, I don't care what good it can bring, and I don't even care about the believable writing or character development... I... don't... Like it! Simple as that. So whether I get the point or not... the fact is, I don't like it, so I make fics to change them to ways that I can REMOTELY like.

And as for "Copying my writing" I know they don't really copy my writing (I even stated this in blogs, and told this to people many times, but they refuse to acknowlegde it. so THEY missed the point, not me)

What I mean by "Copying off me" as I have also stated, which the people refuse to acknowledge, is they are SUPPORTING my writing style. MLP has done things I've already written about in my own fanfics. Yet people have the gall to chew me out and say MLP will never go for what I do, (Not that I'm actually TRYING to make them) but it looks like they have a little but. So my ideas are not as bad as people this if MLP actually DOES some of them.

I didn't miss the point... You did (Heavily proven because you mixed up the words, and didn't acknowledge my earlier explanations)

You see, there's a difference between getting the point and just plain not caring about it and not liking it.

Like this episode of American Dad... (1:17-2:10)

Tank discovered his son is gay, everyone thinks he's missing the point. No... THEY are. He gets the point... his son is gay, but he doesn't like it, so he disowned his son in anger for it.

That's just like me and what I'm trying to say

" I understand it, I just don't like it"

I CAN get the points of things, but whether I do or not, I just don't like them and refuse to accept them. That's all there is to it.

When I first saw this I got spooked because I thought you were talking to me but you didn't

I don't think the script writers support your idea for writing really. It is just that as they make the show in part also more of an adventure show, they of course work with certain ideas, clichees and tropes utilized in certain kinds of fiction regularly, that you just happen to also use.

I mean, good guys fighting bad guys who believe in the power of darkness only to be blown apart is not really something new. Super Sentai does it since 1976

4700474

I don't watch Super Sentai, Just American dubs, and I wrote up there... The Writers have written similar scenes to mine, which means it SUPPORTS my own style, meaning MY IDEAS aren't really that bad for MLP if the writers made it too, and no there is no who did it better with effort and stuff. It's been done... it's been done.

4700541
Sorry, but there are people who do it better than others.
I am not saiyng here you are utterly terrible or something like that, but it is obvious that there is more effort put into the writing of episodes of MLP nd other shows than partly in your stories.

I have read e.g. through your Power Rangers Equestria Girls story, and I think it is not really much effort put in the current villain, if his name is just Vulcan spelled backwards. I know other shows and movies did something like that (Dracula/Alucard) but Dracula spelled backwards actually sounds also good.
Nacluv just sounds like something I expect Captian Kirk to ride on in a Star Trek movie.

And who cares if you only watch Power Rangers instead of Super Sentai? The point I wanted to make, that all the tropes and ideas you use have been used by others over history already, is given. You do not need to act as if you have beaten MLP just because down the line when the show decides to be more action oriented, it takes a hint from something they may have watched on an action show like you did and make it work on their own.

4700571

Perhaps, but everyone has a different def "Better"

And those episodes of MLP make me sick for the way they are written, what they portray and try to preach about. My fics are to help bring a dose of reality and pain into the Ponies world. Friendship won't save you this time (Not always)

I have read e.g. through your Power Rangers Equestria Girls story, and I think it is not really much effort put in the current villain, if his name is just Vulcan spelled backwards. It's just a name... and he's just a kid remember.

I'm not acting as if I've beaten MLP, but rather mockers and haters who wish ill on me for ridiculous reasons.

4700577
I would not really say you bring pain and misery to the ponies.
I have seen worse by people who actually enjoy the show than what you do to most of the characters.
Like, I really don't understand why you even keep the characters of Equestria Girls alive.

4700598

They're not all alive... Flash Sentry is dead

4700600
Who cares about Flash Sentry?

you do realise you're fighting against a tvtropes page with a fimfic blog, right?

I mean, tvtropes is much more popular and visited, you'll only get a handful of visitors to the thousands that page will get.

No offense, but you look outmatched. Completely so.

4706268

It's going to happen no matter (Because I've proven the ignorance and immaturity of other people as well for believing in made up and false stories)

So don't finger me as the most wrong

4706274
I'm not pointing fingers, and I'm fingering even less.

It's more of the fact that, from my view as an observer, you have the equivalent of a small battalion and they have a regiment. Right or wrong, I can't help but notice the odds are strongly in their favor.

4706281

Oh, really? What about those scenes from cartoons where one Sorcerer wipes out the entire army with one blast?

They may be many in numbers, but that's all they got (No intelligence to use it) I could drill my way through them as if they were moving in slow motion.

4706285
Well, then now would be a good time to cast that spell.

4706303

Sometimes, more numbers, and just cuz you have the advantage doesn't mean you have it won.

Blackwar Greymon took out a whole pack of mammothmon.

Goku wiped out the entire Red Ribbon Army.

Yugioh... if my opponent has 5 monsters he can attack me with, all I do is play RAGEKI, which destroys all opponents monsters like that. (A while army beaten with ONE card)

Episode 10 of Negima... dodgball... 11 VS 22. Even though the 22 are more, that means less space to run to dodge, and the girls cant stratgize properly, while the 11 have a speed and space advantage

4706305
True but with the right strength, strategy, weapons, numbers, and a bit of luck and faith anything possible

4715275

No! You should never press your luck unless its necessary, and it doesn't matter if you have all those weapons and strategies... if they aren't strong enough to damage the enemy, that's it.

4715280
True if can't hurt him then there is nothing you can do except stall
