I decided to make this blog post now. I'm sure by now some may know what I'm talking about, but just in case, if you haven't seen/heard/read already about Season 7's finale, you might want to stop reading. Not that I actually speak about the finale itself, but still, up to you.
So, the Season 7 finale has been leaked. And it certainly has an impact over my story of "Flight of the Golden Eagle". In a previous blog post I had mentioned that I was writing the story in the era long before the show's events. This was because there was so few info on it I could have some free reign on adding, removing, or changing things up to suit my needs. Not to mention, the fact it's an ISOT-CiE-HiE story, the AU tag was gonna be there anyway.
Throughout Season 7, there had been episodes that dwelled precisely on mostly the era of time I am writing my story. And now comes the season finale. Very interesting, I'd say. And you know what? For a moment as I looked up the info I feared this could be something I wouldn't be able to incorporate right. Outside of what I personally change, and the butterfly effect over it, I would like to include as much canon as possible. But in fact, I see the events of the finale could suit me fine in the end. The season has certainly given me more material to use for my planned AU setting, and I'm certainly thankful for that. Much as I like the "free reigns" thing the era still has compared to the show's events, it's still good to have a well-defined road to travel through, so to speak.
But well, that's long-term stuff... or is it? We'll see, we'll see. I still have a storyline to focus on, but once that is done, who knows where I go next. The possibilities keep branching into more roads...
That's the bad thing about writing fanfictions while the show is airing, the canon can destroy whatever we write.
