Its irony because he's holding a spoon. I quote "the spoon is a lie" do you get it now? He's saying he doesn't believe it because he's holding a spoon while in a cartoon which is some what like a matrix because we are the real world and we made that world up and its characters and made all their actions set into stone. In other words, you guys are to serious he's referencing the matrix joke and reference in this scene with the spoon and him talking about fate.
