Review: Complex Apartments by Phaoray
Well it is time once again to tell the story of one’s fall and their rise. For from the very ashes of fallen hopes, and dreams. A gentle hand will guide their way.
Oh cut your pretentious bullshit sis! It’s fucking National Sunset Shimmer Day! Hell Yeah!!!!!!!! Who’s ready for possibly one of the best Sunset stories to grace FIMfic. Woooooooo!!!!!

Rarity is the exception dear sister. You and I are not perfect like she is. Even I have a better fashion sense than you because I can realise that combat boots do not go with much of anything.

You know what…. YEAH! I can get behind Sunset being best pony for a day. And SunShy is the perfect adorable little cherry to top our Metaphorical Celebratory Cake. So what did we read for today?
We read The World-woops sorry I meant Complex Apartments by Phaoray. May I say that what a lovely little story it is. Filled with the loveable Fluttershy and the ever faithful Sunset Shimmer. She never disappoints.
I read this story during my Jazz Band class period the first week of school and loved every second of it. I was always enveloped in either the character’s thoughts or the beautifully described environments. CHERRY BLOSSOM TREES!!!!!!!
What Cherry blossom Trees? Because i'm pretty sure that their weren't any in this story. Unless you're using Cherry blossoms as a metaphor for the love that was slowly built between Sunset and Fluttershy?
Uhhhhhhhhhh…. Yeah let’s go with that second one. The thing you said. Although, personally I was going to mention that the first time they met just felt very… well very… anime. I mean come on Sunset staring into the distance while being silently watched by the curious Fluttershy. You can’t tell me it wasn’t a moment built for cherry blossoms.
There are anime themes. But god damn it Sunset can't you see she likes you.
I don’t think Sunset fully realised things until the beach. Both her own feelings and Fluttershy’s. Unfortunately this leads into one of my biggest problems with the story. I understand why it had to be done but man is it a turn off in a story for me when characters get kinda… rapey. The scene was really powerful but just it hurt to read. But that was but a hiccup and before we knew it the story was just as cheerful as it had once been.
No. I was talking about when Sunset tells Fluttershy to leave her alone. Then gets her ass dumped by Flash. Also fuck Rumble and his group.
There were definitely some good low points for Sunset. And have we even mentioned that a spectacular romance is pulled without either of the characters kissing at point. About as intimate as it gets is cuddling. And I LOVE IT!!
Just kiss already! For the love of all that is holy just kiss her!
I think it showed a crazy amount of skill that he was able to show such potent love without one of the basic concepts of romance.
They say that when with the your in love you just care about being around the person you care for is all you need.
As a changeling sympathizer I can conclude that this statement is most definitely as true as it gets.
Okay, thats cool. But ten out of ten needs sequel. MORE SUNshy.
Maybe not a sequel but more from this author. Believe it or not, not everything requires a continuation. However, I wouldn’t be opposed to a sequel being written if it were already in the works. I never actually got to mention what my favourite part was. So I’ll just shoehorn it in at the end here. My absolute favourite moment was the first time Fluttershy woke up with Sunset.
