People have asked me if I'm going to continue “Applejack Fixes Everything.” I'd love to, but if I continued it as-is with my OC parents, I'd constantly be thinking about Pear Butter and Bright Mac. In case you haven't caught on, I love the canon Apple parents, and I know I'm not the only one who does. So at this point, I'm probably going to rewrite the fanfic with Pear Butter and Bright Mac. It shouldn't be too difficult – since the show never states how they died, the basic plot would stay the same. I'd just have to change a lot of the dialog and details. Once I finish the rewrite, I'll cancel “Applejack Fixes Everything,” upload the rewrite with a new title and cover art, and link the stories to each other in the summaries. And then eventually finish the story. I do have a plot mapped out, I just keep getting too busy/distracted to write it down. At least now I have one less fanfic to take up my time - "Seeking Harmony" is completed and awaiting a reply from Equestria Daily.
Really? Seems like a waste of time, I thought your OCs were pretty well done.

I'm glad you think my OCs were well done. I'm just wondering if there will be as much interest in the fanfic and its OCs after "The Perfect Pear" happened. It actually might be more of a struggle to keep my own interest than the readers' interest.
I did have a similar idea for a shorter fic that would involve Discord wanting to meet the Apple siblings' parents, so he travels to an alternate universe where they survived. Maybe I could try writing that story while continuing the current version of AJFE.
No, you shouldn't delete it. It's okay as it is. I mean, I'm re-writing an story of mine set in the EG world, and many things have happened there. I only make small changes that don't affect the plot. For example, after Friendship Games happened I had the story set after FG, but then after a time of not publishing a chapter and re-writing the story, I decided that it should be after Legend of Everfree.
So, if you want to re-write, don't change the characters. If you want to do a fic about AJ's canon parents, then do it as a separate. I hope that helps-
I've always been a big believer in the grandfather clause with fan fiction. I say press on. Alternate realities can be a beautiful thing.

Thanks for your thoughts. I think I will continue the fanfic as-is after all and write my other idea too. I just hope I can find the time.
