    UK Ponycon 2017 21 - 22/10/2017

As I've returned safely home I like to share my thoughts of this year's UK Ponycon. This won't be a full blog just a ramble really. I may get round to a full blog work permitting.

Old Oak Common Open day 2/9/217 · 5:58pm Sep 2nd, 2017

EEEEEE been sometime since I have been here, so why not do another blog and this time on my trip to the Old Oak Common Open day. I know it is not about horses but I am the train pone and it is what I do.

So the day started at 5 am after getting woke up by the local foxes and my cat crying to come in my room. After dragging myself out of bed to get breakfast i spend most of the early morning talking to my boyfriend and watching reruns of Top Gear. After getting ready and donning a OOC shirt i left the house about 0830 to go to Waterloo East to hand in some paperwork. After the work matter I made my way to the Underground and caught a Bakerloo Line train to Willsden Junction. Around 0950 i arrived at Willsden and made my way to the depot along with many other rail enthusiasts. Now things got a bit mad as queue started at Old Oak Lane on the bridge over the North London Line.

As I slowly made my way the the queue behind got longer and longer and soon as far back as Willsden Junction Station! After a simple check in and bag search I was in and started taking photos. Now this is the first low point, Some of the locos were tucked away in corners which meant you got in others peoples way and in some cases no shot was possible. This in turns brings the second low point, I feel it was over advertised as 9.000 people turned upĀ and everyone got in each others way with taking photos and tempers started to fray, mainly around where the class 50s were.

But getting back on track so the speak, It was by the class 50s I meet up with a fellow Brony from the London meets we pretty much spent the day taking photos and being allowed in the the cabs of a class 47 and 37. We even came up with the idea of painting Rainbow Dash on a HST set.

Overall it was a great day and a big thanks to all the staff involved

This is a fun read! :) And nice photos too.

I don't envy your 5am start. Getting up at 7:30 for my GCR volunteering was enough for me. ;)

I didn't mind it as my boyfriend was still up so made it worth it :)
