    Star of the Show 'rewrite'

The first chapter of this story was what bothered me the most, so I think subsequent rewrites will be less entire chapter overhauls and more akin to editing pieces of the chapter that I don't vibe with. With the exception maybe of the chapter where Nemesis storms Ellura HQ in Manehattan, that one may get some significant rewrites. I can't tell when that'll happen of course, I'm on vacation

    First chapter rewrite

The first chapter of this story has been freshly rewritten from scratch. The cancelled tag remains for now.

This does not promise that the story is coming back, all I know is that the first chapter was bothering me and I hated how it was written, so I revised it.

The main thing you need to know is that watchful wings = ellura.

Just so we're absolutely clear on my stance of recent things

Hate is not free speech. If you advocate to give hate a platform on which to speak, you are advocating the spreading of its message. It's not censorship, it's called being a decent fucking human being.

I do not stand for racist or fascist groups, I have zero tolerance for such waste, and if you keep defending its inclusion under the rights of 'free speech', then you are part of the problem.

I'm making Super Mario Maker 2 Levels!

I used to make stuff back on SMM1, but it was pretty beginner level stuff and I had no idea what I was doing.

and the same truth holds here! Kinda. I'm trying to improve.

I'd still definitely consider myself a beginner, so if any of you guys happen to have SMM2 and would like to give me some advice, it'd be appreciated.

I only have two levels so far:

Just got around to watching 'Between dusk and dawn'

Literally the very first scene, Loon and Celly fight a giant mountain turtle

Literally my reaction as I watched:

"Oh, giant mountain turtle? I wrote about that before, though celly and loon were fighting it, not the mane si-"

    Celly and Loon show up

"HOLD UP A SECOND WHAT THE FU-"

I'm so sick of it, guys.

I'm so sick of hearing about this episode. Almost a week has passed and I'm still having the words 'The writers hate us!' blasted into my eyes every time I open up my feed.

Look...

Maybe you didn't like the episode. That's fine, my problem isn't in whether you like the episode or not, it's in how you choose to express your opinion.

Look, the writers are human too. They make mistakes. Was it a good idea to make an episode parodying most of the fan's complaints of the show, then writing their complaints off as character flaws and indirectly saying that little girls are the only ones who legitimately enjoy the show, and what it's supposed to be about?

Probably not, probably why the idea was sitting on the backburner after Larson wrote it a while ago.

My point is, rather than complaining that the writers are making fun of us, I prefer to look at the brighter side. They're listening to us. They know these problems with the show exist, and they've addressed them in this episode. Granted, they could have handled it a little better, but rather looking at the past and what can't be changed, I'd prefer to look at the future. No, My Little Pony isn't the best, most plot-driven episodic series on TV, but it's enjoyable for what it is. A fun, innocent little adventure with the ponies we know and love.

That experience, what little I gain from it given that I can't sink all my time into the show and I frankly have better things to do, is ruined everytime shit like this comes up.

I swear, from some of the things I've seen, you'd think this episode broke into some people's houses and murdered their family in front of their eyes or something. It's reactions like this that make me think twice about calling myself a brony, honestly, because shit like this is absolutely childish.

We should not be sending the writers death threats over twitter because they didn't write your waifu the way you imagined her, or some other contrived shit. I'm just...I'm so totally done with the drama around this episode. And it's not just this episode, this kind of thing happens all the time (though oddly seems to happen more whenever rainbow dash episodes pop up).

Look, I'm not saying don't criticize the show. Any form of entertainment, written or visual, should be criticized. Criticism is how we improve, it's how we know we did done fucked up and learn from that experience. But as far as sending death threats to the writers, talking about how the show victimized you, complaining about how the writers don't care about us, about how your life is empty and meaningless after this episode...

.......could we not? Please?

most of the fan's complaints of the show

I don't know. Most of the episode is fairly standard 'the price of fame' stuff. Like, the fandom doesn't enshrine every single thing Pinkie says as hilarious. If anything, the fandom loves to hate on Pinkie for being insensitive. The fandom may coddle Rainbow Dash and try to shield her from all criticism, but all we got in the episode was RD's fans not leaving her alone. Twilight's character arc in the episode is the standard "they don't see the message" storyline, and Rarity is... I don't know, an actress who finds it hard getting work because she played such a horrible villain that one time?

In the grand scheme of the episode's runtime, we get somewhere between three and five direct snipes at the fandom, depending on your generosity. Unfortunately, these snipes are so direct that they're the only thing anyone's talking about.

Personally, I chuckled when the aforementioned snipes occurred.

As did I, but it seems some of this fandom's unable to take a joke.

If Newbie Dash has taught us anything...

bby

i haven't heard this til now

u need to get off mlp/ more

it's no good for you bby

Stop worshipping worst pony and all the critics will go away.

While I enjoyed the episode, I understand why it may not be to everyone's liking, but I agree with everything you mentioned. Some of the reactions I've seen went overboard, and such extreme conduct is impossible to justify. Hopefully, the drama dissipates in the near future, but controversial episodes like Newbie Dash shows that's not a guarantee.

Anyway, I hope everything else is going well for you.

I've only seen the first seven episodes this season and have slowly lost interest as the season's gone on...

I blame bad writing.

_____Holy shit, dude, what episode we talking about here? It's been a while since I've seen an episode and whatnot. Shame people feel the way they do.
