So I put up a blog post about an upcoming story (then took it down shortly after cuz it's probably too early to be talking about that story) and in that post, I mentioned that I know what I want to do with Prominence, but each time I sit down at my computer to work on it, nothing comes out. I don't feel joy or motivation, I just feel pressure and a desire to move on to something more fun for me to work on.
I still really want to finish it, but it's really hard when every time I've tried to hammer out a page or two, I wind up with nothing on the page, and getting mad at myself. But, until the time comes that I don't have to worry about that pressure, there's gonna be a wait.
I was considering putting up a link to a poll, trying to decide if I should just put the sequence of events leading to the ending up in a blog post, but I've decided against doing that.
For now, my priority is to write things that are fun for me, so that I keep writing. I'm sure that, at some point, that'll include prominence again.
And in the meantime, sorry for the wait.
As much as I would love to see Prominence continued... you do you. Writers block is nasty, and simply trying to power through it tends to create bad content.
Based off of your writing style, I'd quite happily read anything new you choose to come out with.
Write what you like to write, and don't feel pressured to finish some thing that simply isn't responding to you any longer. Thank you very much for sharing with us what you have though. :)
as much as i would love too see prominence conintued my advice to you is to follow your heart

in theory I could share more. like I said, I know all the remaining events, I just have to write out all the scenes. but that would be spoilers and people don't like those.
The "post the outline, notes, and plot points for the remaining chapters which will never get written" ploy isn't a bad idea, once you decide you're never coming back to it. I remember a story or two doing that ("Longma" for one) and it worked out well for diehard readers who'd been left in limbo for years. But as long as you might feel the spark again some day, then follow your gut and we, your adoring public, will gladly wait to see it done right.

Well, then I would recommend sitting on what you have until Prominence becomes something that you enjoy the idea of writing about again. If you ever do. We have what we have, and most of us would be pretty happy with that.
... That being said, I like spoilers.
I know what you feel like, but...
...well, one of my biggest struggles as a writer comes when there's rough water ahead. I have not yet learned when resistance is a cue that I should push on through to calmer waters on the other side and when it's a cue that I should take a break and redirect my efforts for a while. If you figure out how to distinguish between the two, please let me know.
Again, I agree with the herd. As much as I absolutely love Prominence, (in fact, the humor in it very much helped me when I was suicidal,) I think you should not hurt yourself to push on. As your fans with a watch button, we will still be here when you feel ready, and will still love you if you never do.

oh man. I've been away from this site for a bit, but...I'm really glad to hear that my story helped you.
