Greetings! I apologize for the extended silence and general lack of updates this past week. RL has slammed me hard and I've been short on time to sit down and write. I'm sort of getting back on track but I'm afraid I don't have an eta on the next chapter release. On the bright side, I have made progress on some outlines but the headaches come from hashing out the details. Given today's event, I thought it might be a good chance to peek at what's been going on in the world of mlp and equestria girls.
On the Equestria Girls Short Films: I've watched them a couple times and while the plot of each story isn't exactly groundbreaking, they are amusing. From what I've heard Dance Magic was originally written to be a prequel to Legend of Everfree which honestly makes more sense. Fundraising for the trip rather than to help save the camp afterward. When I get closer to that point in the story I'll make a decision on how to handle them.
On Season 7: I haven't had a chance to watch more than a couple episodes yet. I did watch The Perfect Pear which was a very sweet story and an interesting way to introduce Applejack's parents. The episode with Luna and Celestia was also long overdue and I hope there are more in the future.
On the MLP Move Trailer: I enjoyed the trailer and I'm looking forward to taking my daughter to see it. The animation is strikingly different from the tv series but knowing what I do about Flash animation it was a necessary change for a big screen release. I really hope the new set pieces are used in season 8, especially the new throne room. The addition of so many new intelligent races to the world adds incredible space for world building and lots of questions that I'm sure will only be answered in fanfiction. It'll be interesting to see what they're going to do with the sea ponies in particular given . . . things in my fanfic universe I can't discuss yet. Dang! Anyhow, I hope the story lives up to the hype.
