    Ten Years of Doctor Perseus

Today marks the tenth anniversary of me creating my account here on FIMFiction. It feels incredibly surreal to type that out. Sometimes it almost feels like yesterday when I was a bright-eyed Brony entering the world of MLP fanfiction for the first time. And sometimes it feels like another lifetime ago.

10 Years After My First Fanfic/My Thoughts on Recent MLP & Doctor Who Content

Hello, everybody! It has certainly been a minute since my last blog post. Like I have said in the past, I am not on here as often as I used to be but I certainly try my best to check on my account whenever I can. In all honesty, I was planning on waiting to write out a blog like this until the tenth anniversary of my FIMFiction account. While I still plan on doing that, I was inspired to write

The 10th Anniversary of Friendship is Magic's Premiere

I know I'm not as active here as I used to be but I felt that I had to at least make a little comment here about Friendship is Magic officially beginning its journey into ten-year status. I can't believe it's been ten years since Friendship is Magic started. Heck, I can't believe it's already been a year since the series ended. Does make me wish that we could have gotten a tenth season in order

What Could Have Been: Doctor Whooves Seasons 3&4

Told ya the wait wouldn't be long. Anyway, here I am to FINALLY close the book on Doctor Whooves once and for all by laying out the rest of what I had planned out for Doctor Whooves. Unlike with Season 2, I'm just going to keep my plans for Seasons 3 and 4 in one blog as I hadn't planned everything out in as much detail as I did the arcs of Season 2. But, still, there is plenty of content to

What Could Have Been: Doctor Whooves Season 2, Arc 3

Yeah...sorry for the long wait on this one. I really have no excuse for taking this long to get around to finally uploading the rest of my plans for what I originally had in store for my Doctor Whooves fanfic series. But I'm here now, for those of you who are still interested in learning about the future I originally had planned for a series I ended well over two years ago. Better being SUPER

What Could Have Been: Doctor Whooves Season 2, Arc 1 · 12:37am Jun 27th, 2017

This is a post that I have mixed feelings about. I’m excited to share with you all what I had planned for Doctor Whooves post-Season 1. But I’m also sad that they’ll never be realized as full stories by me. However, as much as a part of me wishes I could just hop back into the fold and continue writing this series, I know that I can’t. Times have changed and the fire that once burned within me to continue Doctor Whooves is gone. I once again apologize for not being able to bring all of this series to life. Though, I am glad I was at least able to finish that first season and that huge Discord Whooves Arc. And I once again thank every single one of you who followed my stories and enjoyed them. The fact that I managed to entertain a number of people with a silly crossover idea I thought up back when I was still a senior in high school makes me smile. Anyway, enough of the pity fest. Let’s get into what you all want to read. Here is the future that could have been for Doctor Whooves!

I’m going to split this blog into several parts. Overall, I had planned to continue Doctor Whooves through four seasons. The first three parts will cover what I had planned for Season 2 (as this was the season I had planned out the most post-Season 1). Each part will be focused on each of the three arcs that would have made up Season 2. The last or last two parts will consist of the plans I had for Seasons 3 and 4 (both seasons will either be covered in one part or in two depending on how much I have to say about Season 3). With that said, let’s dive into Arc 1 of Season 2!

S2E1&2: The Writer & The Fiction Invasion:

So, Season 2 would start off with a 2-parter. This 2-parter would act as a sequel to Work of Fiction. The first part, The Writer, would flash back-and-forth between two settings. The first would involve the Doctor, Twilight, Derpy, Alex, Quinn, Rocket, Groot, and Hook trapped on a mysterious ship. The second would be a flash forward to Alex’s twin brother, Edgar, being home alone and watching over beaten and unconscious Twilight who had mysteriously appeared in his back yard. The year of these events was pushed back later and later the longer it took me to finish Season 1. So, for the sake of things, the story takes place in 2016. Edgar would be worried, not only because of Twilight, because Alex and Quinn have been missing for five days. Thankfully, Edgar and Alex’s parents would be out on a trip with Quinn’s parents for the summer. Edgar would also find his house being spied upon by strange figures in black. On the ship, the Doctor and the others would discover that they are on a ship owned by the Animator aka Ten Tyler. Rocket, Groot, and Killian would all turn out to be wax figures brought to life by the Animator and there would be a shocking scene with the three of them losing their free will and being reduced to wax puddles by the Animator. Using Alex’s DNA, the Animator would open a portal out of his pocket dimension that would lead straight to Edgar: who the Animator would identify as his greatest enemy. However, the Doctor and the others would thwart his revenge scheme. Twilight would fall through the portal (which leads to where she is during the parts with Edgar) and the Animator’s ship would lose control. The episode would end with a new portal opening up revealing that the ship is headed straight for San Diego Comic-Con 2016.

The Fiction Invasion would start with Edgar and Twilight fighting their way past the figures in black (revealed to be some of the Animator’s wax soldiers that fell through a glitchy second portal after Twilight. They would learn of a ship appearing in the skies above San Diego and make their way to Comic Con. The Doctor, Derpy, Alex, and Quinn would escape from the ship on the TARDIS and land down at Comic Con. The Animator’s wax soldiers would begin an invasion of the city. Some of them would be in the forms of various characters. Horror characters like Freddy Krueger. Cartoon characters like Aang. Et cetera, et cetera. Everyone would meet up at Comic Con and join in the fight. The wax figures of Rocket, Groot, and Hook would come back to life and help out the heroes. Even a wax version of Jack Harkness would gain his identity and join the fight. Eventually, the climax would involve the Animator attempting to kill Alex. Edgar would then attack him. They would suddenly open up a new portal to an unknown location. Edgar, the Animator, Rocket, Groot, Killian, and Jack would fall through. All of the wax soldiers and copies would disappear and the Doctor and Twilight would use the Animator’s ship to erase everyone’s memories of the invasion. They would then send his ship into deep space and cause it to self-destruct. The Doctor, Twilight, and Derpy would return Alex and Quinn home only for them all to be greeted by Edgar, now wearing a black cloak and wielding and golden quill. He has become the Writer and nearly a hundred years would have passed for them (though he would have found out a way to halt his aging). But his abilities are limited outside of his own universe that he has helped create beyond the portal and he can now only exist in other universes for a short time before beginning to degrade. He would promise to see the Doctor, Alex, and everyone again and head through another portal. The Doctor would promise Alex that he will work to find Edgar a way home permanently. The Doctor, Twilight, and Derpy would then bid farewell to Alex and Quinn, board the TARDIS, and prepare to head back to Equestria. The episode would end with an alarm suddenly ringing and the TARDIS suddenly being thrust deep into the time vortex.

S2E3: The Grudge Box:

This episode would take place completely within the TARDIS. Something has tampered with the TARDIS, trapping it in the space between dimensions. The Doctor, Twilight, and Derpy would be led to the heart of the TARDIS in order to fix the problem. Along the way, they have to face the creature behind the TARDIS’s malfunctions: Kayako Saeki from The Grudge. One of the Animator’s last remaining wax creatures. But this one was able to survive the Animator’s defeat by sneaking its way into the TARDIS. Now the vengeful spirit of Kayako has infested the TARDIS and throughout the episode would hunt down and attempt to kill the Doctor, Twilight, and Derpy. The Doctor would ultimately defeat Kayako by exposing her to the Eye of Harmony, nearly killing himself in the process. With Kayako gone, the TARDIS would roar back to life and zip back to Equestria. The TARDIS would violently land back in Twilight’s library. However, the episode ends with the Doctor realizing that Twilight and Derpy are gone and have been replaced by Amy Pond and Rory Williams.

S2E4: Game of Ponds:

This episode would start with the TARDIS returning to Ponyville one day after it left at the end of Season 1. The Doctor, Amy, and Rory would obviously be confused by the whole situation. But they wouldn’t have long to think about it because, upon exiting the TARDIS, they would find Ponyville in chaos. Due to some after effects from Discord Whooves’s invasion, Discord has been freed from his stone prison. And, with Twilight missing, the Elements of Harmony can’t be used against him. So the Doctor would have to work with the Ponds, Spike, Jenny, and the rest of the Mane 6 to try and find a way to stop Discord. Essentially, this episode would be a reimaging of Keep Calm and Flutter On. At one point, Discord would capture Fluttershy, Amy, and Rory. They would then be attacked by one of Discord Whooves’s remnant mutant creatures in the wild. Rory would use his old Roman soldier skills to fight it off but Discord would be severely wounded, temporarily taking away his powers. Fluttershy would then help him and the Ponds would grudgingly help her. They would spend some time together and Discord would suddenly find himself growing to like Fluttershy, Amy, and Rory (especially Fluttershy due to him, upon taking the time to really get to know her, starting to notice parallels between Fluttershy and Lily). His powers would eventually return and the beast would come back. Discord would then use his powers to defeat it after it threatens Fluttershy. Fluttershy and the Ponds would convince Discord to fix the mess he made and, with everyone present, would make peace with Celestia and Luna with him agreeing to help clean up Equestria following the invasion. Discord from this point on would become an ally similar to how he is in the show right now. Loves chaos but more so for the sake of fun rather than evil. Throughout the episode, the Doctor would think that the Amy and Rory with him were the same Amy and Rory from Discord Whooves’s past. But further examination inside the TARDIS would confirm that they are different versions (essentially the Amy and Rory here are the canon Amy and Rory from the actual show’s timeline). The Doctor would relay the situation to everyone and the episode would end with the Doctor, Amy, and Rory setting off to find the canon 11th Doctor, Twilight, and Derpy. And Missy would also make a cameo appearance leaving a clue inside the TARDIS’s console detailing where the Doctor should start looking.

S2E5: The Honeymoon Horror:

This episode would see the Doctor, Amy, and Rory arrive at a magnificent resort in the Griffon Kingdom in 2012 CE. Here the Doctor would run into Juliet Sparkle and Charlie Kemp from The Awakening, now married and on their honeymoon. Amy and Rory would also run into River Song. However, the River Song here is from our Pony Doctor’s timeline and not their canon timeline. The Doctor would stumble across a conspiracy by the staff at the hotel. The hotel staff are actually centuries old and have been feeding guests to a demon like creature in the basement through all that team to keep themselves young and successful. The Doctor, the Ponds, Charlie, Juliet, and River would uncover the plot, defeat the creature, and save the captured guests. The hotel would be destroyed and the Doctor would take everyone to a floating resort in deep space in the far future. While there, the Doctor would receive another anonymous tip from Missy and the episode would end with the Doctor, Amy, and Rory returning Charlie and Juliet home and bidding farewell to River.

S2E6: Memory:

This episode would see the Doctor, Amy, and Rory arrive at a small Equestrian town in 1660 CE. Everypony in the town has been stricken with a daily loss of memory. Some would even be about five years behind others. The trio would investigate the mystery and find that the first two patients are none other than an elderly Colgate and Spike. Amy and Rory would recognize some of the stuff that’s going on in the town and it would turn out that the town has been taken over by Equestria’s version of the Silence. Thanks to help from the Doctor, Colgate and Spike would regain their memories and Amy and Rory would help rise the town up against the Silence. The town would be freed and the Doctor would encounter a mysterious, shady individual who refers to themselves as “the Madame”. The Doctor would receive another anonymous tip. He, Amy, and Rory would take short trip into the future where they would visit Colgate and Spike on their death day. Spike tells the Doctor that he has a lot of craziness to look forward to. He and Colgate would then pass away with their descendants, the Doctor, Amy, Rory, Queen Celestia, and Queen Luna by their side. The episode would end with the Doctor mourning in the console room with Amy quietly telling Rory that “this Doctor may not be that different from ours after all”.

S2E7: Welcome to Storybrooke:

Obviously, this episode would be a crossover with Once Upon a Time and would follow up on a plot point set up back in The Rifts. The episode would start with a young woman named Rachel Daniels leaving Granny’s late at night. She would find Henry’s storybook sitting on a nearby bench. Upon picking it up, she’d suddenly remember her past life as Rainbow Dash from the Rainbow Factory Equestria. Just then, Emma and Henry would arrive and she would give the book back to Henry. The next day, the TARDIS would arrive behind Granny’s. Amy and Rory would be able to exit but the Doctor would be unable to exit the TARDIS due to the effects of the Dark Curse (obviously, this is set during Season 1 of OUAT). The Doctor would then give Amy and Rory specific earpieces so he could communicate with them and see and hear what they see and hear through the TARDIS console (similar to what the Doctor and Clara did in Flatline). Amy and Rory would explore the town and encounter many characters from OUAT. Mary Margaret, David, Archie, and August. They would then have an awkward encounter with Regina, who is suspicious of them due to them being new in town. They would head to the police station and meet Emma. They would talk about anything potentially strange happening in town. Meanwhile, Rachel/Rainbow Dash meets with Henry again and takes an interest in his storybook. Learning the history of Storybrooke and the Enchanted Forest, she kidnaps Henry and sends a ransom to Regina. Emma would learn of this and set out to save Henry. The Doctor guesses who Rachel is (due to learning about the events of The Rifts from Matilda at an earlier point). Amy, Rory, Emma, Regina, and August would eventually track Rachel down to an abandoned warehouse on the docks. She threatens to kill Henry if Regina doesn’t find a way to reverse the curse. Amy and Rory would cause a distraction by projecting an image of the Doctor (who Regina recognizes), giving Emma enough time to save Henry. Rachel would attempt to shoot Emma but August would step in and punch Rachel, unintentionally sending her falling to her death. In the aftermath, Rachel’s body is recovered and Emma thanks Amy and Rory for their help. Regina is even more protective of Henry and sends him home. Amy and Rory head back to the TARDIS but they’re followed by Regina. Regina enters the TARDIS and confronts the Doctor. Clearly, Regina has encountered the Doctor before but from during her time as the Evil Queen. She temporarily regains her magic whilst inside the TARDIS and threatens the Doctor with a fireball. She tells him to stay the hell out of her town and that he’s already done enough for her. The Doctor would then joke about how he’s looking forward to their future encounter. Regina would leave the TARDIS and the Doctor would pilot the TARDIS away. While piloting, the Doctor would suddenly receive a distress message from the 11th Doctor. The episode would end with the Doctor sending the TARDIS towards the source of the message.

S2E8: Geronimo:

This episode would start right after the events of The Grudge Box but from Twilight and Derpy’s perspective of ending up inside the 11th Doctor’s TARDIS. 11, Twilight, and Derpy would obviously be confused about what just happened. The TARDIS would then land in the middle of a gloomy coastal town. 11 would try to pilot the TARDIS away but something is keeping the TARDIS at bay. 11, Twilight, and Derpy then exit the TARDIS and explore their surroundings in search of answers. Throughout their exploration, they would encounter several odd people within the town. Eventually, they would be led by a small child to a hidden altar by the beach dedicated to a creature resembling Cthulhu. The child would then disappear and the trio would discover that the beach is a dumping ground for sacrifices to the town’s god. Among the bodies is the boy they had just met. Upon learning the truth, the town’s residents would start to turn into demon-like minions. The trio would rush back to the TARDIS only to find it gone. The trio would then run onwards only to discover that the town, its surrounding hills, and the bordering ocean are merely a floating, isolated chunk of rock in deep space. Twilight is captured by the minions and her magic is nullified. 11 and Derpy try to find a way to save Twilight. They find an old text in the town’s library that reveals that all of the sacrifices are of people and creatures from other dimensions that are summoned to the town; and that the town’s god will die if a sacrifice is not carried out every year at the right time. 11 and Derpy rush to Twilight’s aid and save her from being sacrificed. Due to the sacrifice being prevented, the town’s god appears and attempts to take the sacrifice for itself. Twilight regains her magic and holds the god off with her magic with help from 11. The sacrifice is delayed long enough that the god loses its power and dies. 11 recognizes the god as an alternate version of the Beast from The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit as it dies. The town begins to crumble apart and its residents begin to die along with the god. 11, Twilight, and Derpy notice a dimensional rift appear and they jump through it just as the town is destroyed. 11, Twilight, and Derpy recover from jumping through the rift. They are now standing on a foggy road. The episode ends with 11, Twilight, and Derpy looking at a sign that says Welcome to Silent Hill.

S2E9&10: Town of Silence & Heart of the Damned

This 2-parter would start with the Doctor, Amy, and Rory following 11’s distress call and parking the TARDIS outside the Welcome to Silent Hill sign. They would head out and explore the town in search of 11, Twilight, and Derpy. Meanwhile, Cheryl Mason (a character from the Silent Hill series) will arrive in search of her father: Harry Mason. Throughout their search, the Doctor would catch glimpses of the Madame while Amy and Rory would catch glimpses of deformed Silence. They would also encounter the various monsters of Silent Hill and have to escape them. Pyramid Head would be their greatest foe. Eventually, the trio would encounter Cheryl and they would find the spot where 11 sent out the distress signal. They would descend into the depths of Silent Hill. They would face more horrors and eventually find 11, Twilight, Derpy, and Harry. They would uncover the secret of the town and how it’s all spawned from the spirit of a girl named Alessa Gillespie, who Cheryl is connected to. After several intense trials and horrors within the depths of Silent Hill, Cheryl would find Alessa and allow their hearts to fuse. Cheryl almost loses control of herself but is saved by the Doctors. With help from the two Doctors, Cheryl is able to take control of Alessa’s power and rid the town of its evil. Alessa’s spirit would then finally be able to rest in peace. Upon returning to the surface, the group would be greeted by the Madame. The Madame tries to kill the Doctor but Cheryl shoots her. The Madame then teleports away before the Doctor can find out who she is. The Madame appears on the outskirts of Canterlot and swears vengeance on the Doctor. However, she is greeted by both Matilda and Missy. The Madame reveals her face to the two and Matilda grimaces. Missy asks Matilda if she needs her help again and Matilda says that she can handle it. She approached the Madame and stabs her with a sword. Matilda says, “That’s for my parents,” as the Madame falls to the ground, dies, and disintegrates into a pile of dust. Missy takes pleasure at seeing how dark Matilda is. Matilda turns to Missy and says, “Don’t tell the Doctor,” and Missy promises that it’ll be their little secret. Meanwhile, the Doctor, Twilight, Derpy, 11, Amy, Rory, Cheryl, and Harry arrive at the exit of Silent Hill to find two TARDISes waiting for them (11’s TARDIS having teleported to the outskirts of Silent Hill due to it being the nearest safest spot from the town; the HADS controls had been messed up due to the dimensional interference). Cheryl and Harry bid farewell. The Doctor then had a heartfelt goodbye with Amy and Rory. Twilight and Derpy bid farewell to 11 and the two Doctors say their goodbyes as well. 11, Amy, and Rory talk about where to go next and Amy mentions that she’d like to go to Manhattan (thus implying that the events of The Angels Take Manhattan are either next or will be happening soon for the canon trio :fluttercry:). The two trios board their respective TARDISes and teleport away. The Doctor is happy to be back with Twilight and Derpy. The episode ends with the Doctor, Twilight, and Derpy returning to Ponyville and Twilight saying that the Doctor has some explaining to do when she sees Discord helping Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie fixing up Sugarcube Corner.

And that’s it for the first Arc of Season 2. In the next part, we’ll dive into Arc 2! Please, feel free to leave your thoughts down below; and, as I've said in the past, if anyone wants to continue this series on their own or take inspiration from it, you have my full permission.

Well, the first part of Season 2 sounds like it would have been a grand ole' time.

Wax figures. You always come up with the most disturbing ideas for your stories. I do like the idea of Captain Hook potentially interacting with Jack Harkness. Even if they are wax figures. Jack would have gotten his flirt on with Hook so hard.

So does that mean The Writer in Black that appeared in “Work of Fiction” was Edgar from the future?

So you were going to throw the movie The Grudge into all this. The Grudge. That’s a movie I’ve never seen.

The Grudge Box reminds me a bit of the Doctor Who episode “Journey to the Center of the TARDIS”.

So the Doctor would have to work with the Ponds, Derpy, Spike, Jenny, and the rest of the Mane 6 to try and find a way to stop Discord.

I thought you said Derpy was gone.

Game of Ponds definitely sounds a lot better than “Keep Calm and Flutter On”. I never cared for how that episode handled Discord’s reformation.

Amy and Rory would recognize some of the stuff that’s going on in the town and it would turn out that the town has been taken over by Equestria’s version of the Silence.

Like pony Silence?

I like the idea of seeing Juliet Sparkle and Charlie Kemp from your second ever story again.

So your crossover with Once Upon A Time was going to be set in Season 1. :applejackunsure: And that would have been the ultimate end of Rainbow Factory Dash. Though it wouldn't have been the last time The Doctor encountered Regina as apparently she's met him before.

Eventually, they would be led by a small child to a hidden altar by the beach dedicated to a creature resembling Cthulhu.

You were going to throw some Lovecraft into all this. I love it.

11, Amy, and Rory talk about where to go next and Amy mentions that she’d like to go to Manhattan (thus implying that the events of The Angels Take Manhattan are either next or will be happening soon for the canon trio :fluttershysad:

That is so heartbreaking. What kind of feels monster are you?

So your two part mid-season finale would have revolved around the video game Silent Hill, which I am not familiar with because I don't play the video games.

So pretty much the first arc would have been Doctor Whooves traveling around with Rory and Amy. And you got a few cameos from Missy. And this Madame sounds particularly interesting. I wonder what's her connection with Matilda. It's just a summary, but it remains utterly fascinating to me.

Have you given thought that the person doing the audio drama might want to adapt this themself in audio drama form? I'd certainly love to see this in whatever form.

Irregardless, I look forward to your other blogs revealing what could have been when it comes to Doctor Whooves.

I thought you said Derpy was gone.

She was. Fixed that. :twilightsheepish: As you can see, I had a lot to say about my plans and I pretty much just spilled it all out. I was originally going to give Season 2 its own blog, but when I saw how much I had to put down I just decided to split it up by arcs.

Have you given thought that the person doing the audio drama might want to adapt this themself in audio drama form? I'd certainly love to see this in whatever form.

I gave him permission to continue past Season 1 but he told me that he only plans to adapt the first season.

4584241

So does that mean The Writer in Black that appeared in “Work of Fiction” was Edgar from the future?

That was always meant to be left open-ended. You could have taken it as a future Edgar. Or you could have taken the meta route and assume that it was a self-insert of myself. Either works. But, for the sake of not breaking down the fourth wall too much, we'll say it was indeed a future Edgar. The lengths of his powers will be explained further when I get to discussing Arc 3 of Season 2.
