Possible future Merch, Patreon, Events??? · 8:20pm Jun 10th, 2017
Ok this is totally a stretch. But I'm getting popular on my channel. It's grown so fast, it feels like I just started it yesterday. So I just wanted a second opinion on possibly doing a few things. And I do want you to be honest after reading what I have to say.
Merch
If I had merch, what would it be? Necklaces of different Cutie Marks? Art? Blankets? There are so many possibilities to choose from. Where would I sell? Etsy? Storenvy? Sweet Celestia this seems overwhelming. I'm not good at art (and this is a total cheat) but I would sell autographed copies of my character image. Or I could make a CD of different readings based on type or author and sell that! But I'm just brainstorming, so I don't know yet.
Patreon
Should I make one? What would me goal(s) be? What would the dollar amount be for Patreon prizes? What kind of prizes would I offer to my patrons? Sneak Previews? Exclusive first looks before anyone else? Podcast chats? Patrons getting their stories read or starring in an audio play? So much to decide.
Brony Meetups/Cons
Ever since joining the Brony & Pegasister community, and hearing about meetups and conventions, I've wanted to go. I already go to anime conventions (though I've only gone to two), so why not add Brony cons to the list? But there are so many all over the place and very few close to home. What's a girl to do? What would be the best con to start off with? Should I just start off as an attendee then eventually get my own table? Wouldn't be bad. I could meet many of you and it would be fun.
What do you think everyone? Should/Could I do any of this?
I'm goin to warn you that Patreon can be a beast to start, even with a fan base. I've had mine gathering dust for years. One thing I have as a reward is a three day early access to new chapters or readings.
But the CDs and meet ups are good and easily executed ideas. There are hundreds of places to get a CD made and sent out from place like Amazon and CreateSpace to your own desktop burner setup.
Me, personally, I'd see what cons are in a reasonable travel radius and go as an attendee with a few cards with your channel name on it.
But, these are opinions, not facts. Do what YOU think is best in terms of do ability and execution.
And try not to let Lilly do your accounting.

Oh the CDs are easy to do. I can have my dad help me out with them. Meet ups might be hard for me since I have no idea where they will occur. Conventions, there are possibly 2 within reasonable distance for me to go to. But would eventually like to go to ones in different states
I'm jut shooting out an idea but something my friend did with something, was he started doing a few colabs with people.
