Random quote time? Next chapter is called "Chrysalis Confirms That Ponies Are Insane"
Celestia cleared her throat as if warning Cadence to take things seriously. Now there was an exercise in futility.
“I should excuse myself from this meeting,” Celestia suggested in a fake-kind tone. “Clearly I am… not needed.”
“Now sister,” smirked Luna, “This is an important meeting. It would be inappropriate for us to leave when it has scarcely begun. Aside from that, should you not take pride in your former student’s diplomatic skills?”
Cadence’s gravy was profuse, like sucking liquefied honeydew melon from a flesh faucet.
The 'diplomatic meeting' will also include three other chapters from various points of view:

That actually refers to Cadence. Official word on her is that she was a pegasus that was promoted in a similar fashion as Twilight, so I made the assumption that she was also a student at some point prior. In this particular story, I'm assuming Cadence to be several centuries old.

Is "official word" referring to the show? I'm asking because I haven't actually watched any episodes of MLP in a while. I think I stopped after the end of S2. Other than DWK and the wiki pages for major characters, I'm basically winging it right now.

Not from the show itself, no, but people involved with the show said Cadence was a pegasus before her promotion. I guess they just wanted to make clear that you don’t have to be a unicorn to become an alicorn.
