    Spur of the moment decision?

    Spur of the moment decision.

I'm going to rewrite the Equestrian Knight trilogy, submitting one chapter per day until completion, so I can finally feel good about it and get back into writing.

    You can't stop me.

    It begins.

    Today!

    Please excuse this post...

...because I just wrote something I thought I needed to get out. I wrote it on Facebook, and I don't foresee it getting any interest here either, but I don't want it lost entirely. Also, some of you might be interested in what I have to say (not likely) but here it is:

On the Grammar of Publishing Houses

I was in the store the other day and came across a book next to the checkout lane. There was a DVD of the same title next to it, but I couldn't be sure if the book inspired the movie or vice versa.

Well... It's been something like 2 years hasn't it?

Ever since coming home, I've been pretty quiet on the writing scene. I always had time, but high-speed internet let me do so much more stuff that I kept getting distracted. Job hunting also didn't help, though not as big of a factor as one might assume. I've mostly just been terrified of letting people down, and this is probably the hardest thing to write. Nothing says letting down your readers like halting all work for good.

I'm sorry.

But there's a small consolation prize! I've always hated it when the writer quit a story, whether because they didn't like the path it was taking or they got tired of writing altogether. I won't be that writer! You want conclusions, I'll give you conclusions. Every story I have open will get a chapter filled with my author notes, or where I was planning on going with it if none exists, and whatever writing I did have completed. Hopefully, that will let you faithful readers have some sort of peace. Hate wondering how things end, you know?

It might take me a little bit, but those that follow me will get this blog, and those that follow the stories will get the chapters at least. As of this moment, expect nothing more from me than as I've mentioned. I may come around to do a little short story, but it's very unlikely.

Rest assured, this has nothing to do with the show itself. A good author can work magic around canon, and I'd like to think I can manage that (by being a cheapskate and sticking to earlier seasons). No, no, the show has taken some interesting turns, but I still watch it for the same reasons I did before, a distraction. Just so happens, maybe I should stop having so many of those if I want to get anywhere, right?

It's been so long, I don't even know if anyone will read this...

So long, and thanks for all the fish.

One does what one has to. You are, at least, willing to give at least summarized closure. I will not judge you negatively.

Thank you. I wish it was as simple as what one has to, though. I'm just a terrible person for not seeing things through to the end. It's not like I have an excuse; I have time.

While it's neat you're doing this, you could also start one new story? I'm sure you've got ideas...

I should point out I'm in the same boat as you. But instead of focusing on my distractions, I'm simply ending one story, giving up on one other (one that was not going anywhere) and instead focusing on stories that do matter to me! YOU CAN DO IT! JUST FORCE YOURSELF! :pinkiecrazy:

Well at least you gave your reasoning for the cancellation/incomplete of your fics. Hell, there are some fics on this site that haven't updated in over five years that I'm still waiting on...

Getting closure is a hell of a lot better than nothing, you do what you have to do, don't worry about us.

Do what you have to do, my friend. Writing isn't something easy to do, especially when it comes to fan fiction, and I feel that everyone moves on eventually. Just know you'll be remembered, whether in my mind or on this site, immortalized for as long as the Internet stays a connected web.
