Just your average Brony who happened upon an idea that might actually turn out to be clever enough for guys to love.

Pony POV Series, sharing · 7:02am May 15th, 2017

Everything I've created for the pony pov series, I consider to be shared equally with the brony fandom, as long as it stays IN the brony fandom.

as long as it stays IN the brony fandom.

What exactly does that mean?

I'm sorry but what??

Speaking of which, what did you think of (Pony) Rarity's mad shredding skillz in the most recent episode ("Honest Apple")? I think that supports your idea that the Belles are descended from Sea Ponies.

Meaning that it's not used for non-MLP fan projects.

I'm saying my ideas in the Pony POV Series, are free to be used by anyone in the brony fandom, as long as they remain MLP fan projects.

I haven't seen that episode yet. I'm waiting for their official release dates.

I applaud your willingness to give your blessing to any brony who wants to make use of your ideas. But trying to prohibit non-brony use is futile. Once your ideas are out in the wild you have zero control over what people do with them. If that weren't the case Pony POV and this whole site wouldn't exist.

4533884 Doesn't mean you can't ask that they keep it in the Brony fandom. Think of it like the honours system.

4551110 Sure you can ask, but you have to understand no one is under the slightest obligation to comply. There's no honor system involved because no one agreed to any such condition before reading Pony POV.

In the end, the only people this will affect are those who like or respect the author enough to voluntarily comply with that request. Which, if it were me, are the very people I'd most want spreading my ideas around.

4552061 He does want the ideas spread.

And even Fan Fiction.Net itself refuses to allow fan fiction if the creator expressly asks not too.

Sure people COULD use it for non-pony stuff even when the author asked them nicely not too.

But see, we have a term for blatantly ignoring another person's wishes and just doing whatever the Hell you want:

"Being a dick."

Most of us AREN'T dicks, and the fact that he wants the stuff kept in the brony fandom is reason enough for us.

4552201 "He does want the ideas spread."
Yes, but only within the confines of the brony community. Which is a limitation no one is obliged to honor. And, as I said, the people who will honor it anyway are precisely the people I'd want spreading my ideas—regardless of where they spread them.

"And even Fan Fiction.Net itself refuses to allow fan fiction if the creator expressly asks not too."
Which is entirely FanFiction.net's choice. What it isn't is any kind of moral or legal basis to rest your argument on.

"Most of us AREN'T dicks, and the fact that he wants the stuff kept in the brony fandom is reason enough for us."
See point number one.
