Chapter 2 Part 3 · 8:51pm Oct 3rd, 2012
Hey there, my dear readers!
Today, I officially can tell you that I´ve finally finished the next Part of Rising of Destruction!
It took me, thanks to my vacation, quite some time to write it, but now it´s finished.
And now: Let´s come to the facts!
Chapter 2 Part 3 is once again longer than the last chapter with nearly 9500 words, though I really thought it would become a shorter chapter.
Its name is 'A Day Back To Normality!?'
The minor plot is about Twilight´s, Bleach´s and Spike´s first day after they arrived in Ponyville. They explore the town and its citizen.
Needless to say we now finally get to see the first other characters of the mane six.
Here I once more have to say, that the whole story plays about two years before the Nightmare Moon-incident and that I am fully aware that it is, up to that point, completely unlogical that our trio meets anyone of them. Though, because I know my story and its end, I can totally assure you that I found a way to connect the events of this story with the canon, so please don´t prejudice any happenings that will take place in the story!
Also it is the first part of the whole story without the appearance of one of the villains.
Seeing the part as it is, you can say it´s some kind of bridge between the main events. Except the fact that Twilight and Bleach get to know some others of the Elements of Harmony and some revelations in the beginning, it doesn´t have very...incisive events. But to compensate the lack of revelations, I took the opportunity to intensify the characters and tried to make them more profound. I don´t think I succeded with Spike, but I believe, I could give you some more insight into Bleach´s character, especially for those who haven´t read any chapters of The Halcyon Days.
Mentioning that, of course I reffered some things to the happenings there, the ones that had already happened, the ones that are still a long way away and the ones that are going to happen very soon there ;)
Also I want to point out and explain a refference, that may won´t see everybody at the first sight:
A refference to Sir Dante Alighieri´s masterpiece 'La divina commedia', 'The Divine Comedy'.
I may didn´t show it to anybody, but Dante´s view of the next world was partly very inspiring for my story, especially 'Inferno' for my villains.
Who knows 'Inferno' now may notices the refference: the order of the birth of the six alicorns is very similiar to the nine circles of hell in 'Inferno'.
After the first circle 'the limbo':
First comes lust.
Second gluttony.
Third cupidity. (or greed in my case)
Fourth is wrath, fifth is heresy and sixth is violence. (granted, I summed these three up in one person, but still is violence the next in the order)
Seventh is deception and eighth is betrayal. (also summed up in one person)
Only hatred isn´t part of the circles, but if you align him with Luzifer´s hatred against God and personify him with Luzifer, it still works because Luzifer waits at the bottom of the hell and so is the last part of it.
Who wants to know more about the Divine Comedy, here´s a link for you.
Also, if you think a little bit about it, the order like I showed it has something logical.
Lust is a consequence of the primal urge of reproduction, though an invention of mankind because mankind is (scientifical and official) the only kind which enjoys sex next to dolphins.
Gluttony is the expanded wish to not only have a good lay from time to time but to live ones life in unadultered debauchery, to satisfy every guilty pleasure.
Cupidity is the next instance of gluttony, the wish not only to satisfy ones guilty pleasures but to be the only one who can live like that and to own everything because the others should get nothing.
And if everybody thinks like that, violence is of course the follow-up sin, because if nobody gives something voluntary, you have to take it from him with violence.
Deception and betrayal are the sins that perfect the violence. Where violence is mostly without control and planning, these two sins aren´t just primal like the others. They are planned and have an explicit target. They work with the head. That´s why they are the deepest parts of the hell and have a higher seriousness in the book.
Hatred in the end is the one thing that leads everything. It stirs the fire between the sinners and deludes them.
And so, my villains were born. ^^
And now, to finish it all, some music like always for you:
Lunatica - The Search Goes On
and, because that´s just an intro:
Lunatica - Avalon
As you may notice, the album´s name is 'Fables and Dreams', the same name of the exhibition Bleach, Lucien and Silverleaf helped to prepare at the library. It´s a direct refference.
Also gave me the first of the two songs the idea to use a book as medium for the dark alicorns.
And finally the cover and the songs´ melodies gave me the inspiration for the strange underwater-dome with the stone altar.
So, that´s everything for today. A little bit more than usual, but I think that shouldn´t disturb anybody.
I hope you have fun during reading my new chapter and enjoyed the insight into my creativity´s sources.
Now musing about the next Episode of Halcyon Days...
