A Vital Sign! · 2:00am Apr 6th, 2013
Hey my dear readers!
Long time, no blog!
I am sorry if some of you already thought I´d be dead or no more interested in continuing my stories, since I set them all 'On Hiatus'.
Truth is, I am still writing, very eager even, on a rather big project I wanted to write ever since it popped up in my mind last summer and now finally am realizing it. It´s a rather long story, though, and I don´t want it to get published chapter by chapter, but all at once, the whole story.
Why?
Well, it has a special reason to me, which I´ll reveal to you after my goodbye, because it contains spoilers.
Anyway, I am still sitting on the story´s seventh chapter currently (sounds much, but isn´t, because there will be sixteen chapters in the end)
I hope and pray that I will have it finished till the end of August. (Though, not promising anything)
But now let´s come to the thing the matters right now: My new one-shot story A Sailor´s Last Wish...
It is a small byproduct my mind came up with while I was working and needed to get out of there. So, here it is.
It is a story about Pipsqueak and Dinky, both matured and adult now. Rather uncommon characters for me, I know, but this shipping came up on me because of this amazing comic by veggie55. I absolutely love his comics!
So Pip and Dinky are going to my personal head-canon.
But now: The story.
A short piece about 3100 words. Tagged 'Sad', 'Romance' and 'Slice of Life'.
The main thought was, Pip would be gone to sea because of fulfilling his dream exploring far lands. And his loved family stayed at home, waiting for his return. But then, something happens to the ship Pipsqueak´s on and he sees that he wouldn´t get out of the situation, so he writes a last message to his loved ones, a bottle post, hoping it will reach its destiny.
That´s exactly what the story starts with. It doesn´t exactly show Pip, but the letter should give a good imagination of everything happening around him.
SPOILER!: I could have ended it with a sad end, but I preffered the happy one int the end. But if I find some time after everything, I could add it as an Alternative form of the story.
There´s even a fitting song for this story I can add!
It´s german, so you´ll find the translation beneath:
Deutsch:
Translation:
The mountain of steel climbed, the boat casts off
The glances were locked, we head off to the ocean
The stars guide us, illuminating the night
Black ash weighs the sea, it goes ahead in the piston blow
A horn tears the silence, the ropes fall off
The bow lifts to the sky high and the tailwind awakes.
Behind me´s the homeland, that goes out in the horizon
But in my heart, there´s your voice; telling me: "Come back soon. "
I often see in the sky, 'searching your face in clouds
Perhaps goodbye´s a journey, that promises reunion
I so often hear your voice, even though I know you're not there.
Maybe love´s like constellations that telling me: "I will guide you"
Don't forget me
Don't forget me
So many memories I have left behind my back
´T will fade a lot of it, except for what matters
Before me, the silence, an unknown vast nothing
But in the the heart, there´s your voice
Like a constellation for me...
I often see in the sky, 'searching your face in clouds
Perhaps goodbye´s a journey, that promises reunion
I so often hear your voice, even though I know you're not there.
Maybe love´s like constellations that telling me: "I will guide you"
Don't forget me
Don't forget me
Don´t forget me
So, that´s it.
My longest blog ever.
I´m tired now. (Which is may because it´s 3 am...)
Heading to bed now....
Your Ivo
PS: Yeah, the reason why I don´t send my big project in batches...
It is, because this fic will be a crossover with an album of a band, that´s at the same time a rock opera.
It´s parted in two acts with seven to eight scenes, each of them a song in itself. I´ll write a chapter to every song and so retell the opera on my own. It´s hard not to write more of my plans, right now, so I´ll skip all about the 'How's and just say, that I´ll add to every chapter the respective video and lyrics of the origin into the author´s notes.
But in the end, if I would publish it partly, some may watch the yet not published parts´ videos on youtube and already know how the story continues.
So, in one word, it´s self-spoiling-prevention. ^^
