I'm currently working on a new Call of Duty: Equestrian Warfare chapter for Raven that is the story climax and may well be the story ending. The rewrite has been going off and in for well over a year now and it's time to conclude it. Those of you curious to see how pony strength, weather control and magic would do against modern human weapons and how the Mane 6 would react to an invasion of Ponyville by well-armed Russian Ultranationalists ala Modern Warfare are invited to read.
Hint: they kick ass in due course and there are some callouts to Rise of Firefly as well. Yeah, it's a crackfic crossover but I've done my best to make it work.
After that? As promised, I'm returning to finish off The Lawyer and the Unicorn, alternating it with chapters of Firefly. Speaking of the latter, to answer a question posed by the last chapter, it has been decided that the story will be marked complete after these final interludes and then resume with a new story; part two of a trilogy. The new story will be linked at the ending of the final chapter of the old one so you don't have to worry about missing it.
Why am I doing this? Because I think the length of this story has become daunting for new readers as it's now novel length and if I ever published this as actual books, that would be the natural breakpoint between one novel to the next. My hope is by launching a fresh story right into the war, the overall story will get a boost of new interest as it's been getting progressively harder to attract new readers and reach the 200-like mark.
And there you have it. I'm also sorry I've been somewhat unavailable online but I've been rather moody lately for reasons I won't go into now. Just be assured I'm still alive and kicking... and writing. TLaTU will be finished within a couple months and conclude... suitably .
I'm quite looking forward to the conclusion of Firefly Part 1 and the launch of Part 2. I hope you get a boost with the new story as Firefly is deserving of more readers who are currently missing out.
Thanks for answering my question about the breakup up of the stories. I'll be sure to keep in eye out for the next part.
Moody? Something wrong?
