Exchange Hardcover - Quick Question · 1:34am Mar 13th, 2017
Note: No idea what I'm talking about here? You might want to read the previous post and its associated comments.
Well, it was a productive weekend. I managed to get a lot of the planning for Exchange's new bonus chapter done, as well as figure out how I want to divide the larger chapters for the hardcover version. My initial proposal is below:
My question to the readers is - would you like these changes to be applied to version on Fimfic as well? Keep in mind there are no changes to the content of the chapters, just to the way they're arranged. The goal is to improve readability by not having huge amounts of text to slog through in order to reach a good stopping point.
It's more work for me, but I'll do it if there's interest. What do you think?
Do you ever plan to do a sequel to the story? I feel like you may have answered this before but I saw this blog post and it reminded me how much I enjoyed the story.
I personally prefer longer chapters, but I have a lot of time on my hands.
Why not. especially if there will be a bonus chapter as well!
Sequel also would be great.
Yeah, I'd love to see these changes on FimFic
I would like it to be so the chapters are shorter since I don't have free time anymore
W-what?!
New bonus chapter?
HARDCOVER BOOK?
*dies*
I think shorter chapters would be a good idea. Go ahead and change it here.
Hardcover?! You can put my name down right now; I'm in. (Props to the Russian version, but I have to admit I want the one I can actually read.)
It doesn't matter to me if you break it up, since I tend to read as much as I can in one sitting without regard to chapter boundaries. That said, I can see the appeal.
Do what will help you sleep at night as long as you PUT ME DOWN TO BUY ONE/
4453806 SAME HERE HOLY SHIT
Personally, I can't stop reading a book halfway through anyway, so the chapter cuts don't make a lot of difference. I am extremely excited about the extra bonus chapter though. (the extra extra extra extra bonus chapter?)
Put me down for a copy.
Will it ship outside the US?
Might buy a copy, for this story truly deserves it.
My two cents say that the changes would benefit the stuff on Fimfiction as well, for even if it is digital content, when you have to stop reading mid chapter it can be a pain in the ass to look for the last position in the page, if you kill the tab/device/whatever you're reading on.
Will the hardcover have illustrations as well?
Wow, a lot more responses here than I expected so soon!

No sequel, though an additional decent-sized bonus chapter is in the works.

It's a little too early for me to have concrete details, but here are my current intentions for the physical version. I'm going to do a post on this once I'm further along in the process.
Basically, my goal is to provide a source file(s) that you can submit to most on-demand printers to have a hardcover / paperback produced. This should benefit both me and those interested in a physical copy of the story.
- For one, it makes it so there's no way I can possibly make money on this, avoiding all the associated complications from that.
- International shipping would not be required if you choose a printer local to you.
- If someone wants a copy at any point in the future, I don't have to do anything.
- You have the ability to customize the physical version to your preferences.
Regarding artwork, I haven't decided on anything yet. I'm aiming for a standard novel size of 6.14x9.21" and page count is going to be tight as it is. A default cover will be provided, but again, since you'll have the source files, you can customize it with your own image. Internal color artwork is another thing all together as a lot of printers don't support that, but I'm looking into all options to see if I can find what works best.
Once I have samples I'll provide a list of US-based recommended printers. Again, more details to come as I get further in the process.
I'd buy a copy. Why not?
I think you must live alone original story and write a sequel. How much can you expand the original? Start writing a sequel already. Just sitcom like first 6 chapters and expansions.
I'd buy a copy
Shit, I loved this story so much. I'd buy a hardcover.
