I guess you could say I'm 'finished' writing the chapter now! I shaved off a lot of what I would call fluff and a lot of unnecessary scenes and details that mostly just acted as filler, so I definitely managed to keep the chapter length at a reasonable spot. Now comes the painstaking task of editing and revising stuff, which will be really fun. There's some stuff that might need a little more and others might need a little less, but we'll see how it turns out. I considered giving another excerpt from the chapter, but nah, one is too many .
Anyway, I suspect the new chapter will be up pretty soon, so yeah.
I thought you said 18k words? But anyway, that is still a wonderfully lengthy chapter, and I can't wait to read it! Thank you for writing this!
4442252 Yeah, but like I said, I cut a pretty decent amount of stuff out. There was a lot I felt would be placed too soon in the story, so those scenes I'm planning on reworking to fit into the plot a little later for the sake of keeping the story at a pretty steady pace. I don't want to end up bogging down anyone reading with too much information .
I'm glad to hear you're looking forward to the next chapter !
wow that's very impressive I don't think I could ever beat that i'm on my fiction three in the works and it's for chapter 4 and it has at least 10 pages in google docs so far.
4442268 To be fair, I double space my writing, so I'd like to think the page numbers are a bit exaggerated . There are some people on this site that write something like 30-40K words for one chapter ! That blows my mind! But it's not really about length, just the content itself really. Quality > quantity, that sort of thing.
4442274 yea that's true
