Deities of AssassinationVerse: Septum Cain, God of Dragons · 12:10pm Feb 11th, 2017

3. Septum Cain, God of Dragons

Perhaps no god is more was more loved and respected then Septum Cain, the first of the Race Gods to be created by the Creator Gods. Septum Cain was unique because he was seven headed with each head named, and processed, a virtue that he used to help created what many consider the greatest Empire the world had ever seen. The virtues were, Wisdom, Justice, Compassion, Honor, Loyalty, Valor, and Faith.

Like himself, Septum Cain created various types of dragons, each different sizes, shapes, and abilities. He valued uniqueness and individuality (Ironic considering he was seven headed). He gave his people the means to grow not just by themselves, but also as a whole under a united code consisting of 100 different rules and 50 different sutras for prayer, medication, and spiritual balance. Yet he was wise enough to allow the dragons to grow without his hand, giving them a chance to discover strengths and enlightenment of their own. It was no surprise that The Dragon Empire was the first to true kingdom to be born and often is considered the cradle of civilization even today. Advance scientific discoveries, a wondrous culture, near undefeated military, and a strong faith among the people kept the empire shining bright for thousands of years. There were bad times, times of war, disease, strife and such, but the Empire always shined in the end.

Some of the other Race Gods were inspired by Septum Cain, others feared or grew jealous of him, but none could deny his power. He was made the Leader of the Race Gods when they needed to meet among another, and all respected him. It was he who taught Grandus how to act like a noble god rather than a barbaric one. He who first accepted those outside of his race into his faith and afterlife, mostly to spare the female minotaur’s from becoming slaves in Sarga, God of Minotaurs’s, afterlife due to his sexist belief that males were superior to females. And it was he who delivered Udine, Goddess of Sirens, to her eternal prison at the bottom of the ocean for the destruction of the Wolf Race.

Yet there is a reason why Septum Cain is spoke in past tense, for the God doesn’t exist anymore. In the Era of Chaos, Discord, at the height of his power, brought chaos to the Dragon Empire. Like many of the other Race Gods, none could stop Discord as their powers and influence was useless on him. He was neither god nor demon nor angel, but pure chaos given form. Therefore, Septum Cain decided to do something that was both brave and yet also desperate. Coming down in a “Mortal Form”, Septum Cain challenged Discord to one on one. The fight was so epic that it split a piece of the earth now known as “Septum’s Wraith”. The two were evenly matched, but Discord had one thing that Septum Cain didn’t have: cunning. Discord knew that he could not kill Septum Cain. Not just because of his power, but because even if he did “kill” his mortal form, he would just become a God again.

Instead, Discord performed a cursed that caused all seven of his heads, his spirits, into crystals and scattered them across the world. Septum Cain was not dead, but now scattered, with the curse only to be lifted when one worth of all seven virtues could unite them. Seeing their God fall, the empire of Dragons soon fell as well with their faith shattered as greed, corruption, and fear destroyed their once great glory. They became clans and separate kingdoms, claiming land and fighting over dominance and greed. Each of the seven major clans holds a specter with a jewel on it, one of the seven souls for each. However, instead of coming together to find a worthy dragon, they fight for the procession of all seven to become the new “Dragon Emperor.”

Today, Discord does regret his action against Septum Cain, but regretfully he cannot end the curse. Even with all his attempts to redeem himself, there are many who cannot forgive him for what he had done to the once great Dragon God; both mortal and divine. However, his followers hope that one day he will return.

Standing With Other Gods: There was no god respected more than Spetum Cain, even the Creator Gods loved him with their hearts. Only two Gods do not like him: Centarus, who really hates just anyone, and Udine, who curses him along with the rest of the gods in her underwater prison.

Looks: A giant seven headed dragon whose body is gold, but his heads are colored for each of the virtues he represents: Purple for Wisdom, Red for Justice, Pink for Compassion, Orange for Honor, Blue for Loyalty, Silver for Valor, and White for Faith. He also has eight wings, and three spiked tails

Religious Structure: His order's structure, church design, and symbolism is similar to that of the Roman Pantheon, which each head worshiped with its own churches, vows, rules, and dogma, but all worship the one god as well.

Afterlife: There are Seven Heavens and Seven Hells that Spetum Cain created. Each of the Seven Heavens reflects the virtues he teaches, with the soul given to that heaven whose virtue they displayed most in life, while the hells are for those who committed the greatest sin that is opposite of his virtue. Each of the Seven Heavens and Hells are similar to the Heavens and Hells found in Dante’s Divine Comedy.

Seems like either Spike or Ember are going to break the curse...

I think Twilight was to play some part in bringing back Spetum Cain. Hopefully somebeing will step up and inherit her role.

There are a few grammar mistakes in this.

Septum Cain seems like the kind of deity anyone would want to follow.

Thought, hadn't Discord told anyone the god could be 'revived??

near invisible military

an army of invisible dragons... Sounds epic.
Some real bad dude is just walking down the street and suddenly "halt villain, you're surrounded!"
The villain be like 'looks around' "there ain't nobody around, what are you playing at?"
And then suddenly dragons.
"Well, shit."

OMG, I had just recently started thinking about your previous posts and assumed that the scepter was a part of him!

World-building is always so fun. I really like when stories take their time to flesh it all out and how characters react to it, and not just dish it out without having an actual impact.

Sounds a little like Five-Headed Dragon from Yugioh.

maybe a certain purple dragon will be the one to bring back the Dragon god...
