ANOTHER 20,000+ word chapter!? · 11:37am Sep 23rd, 2012
Well that just adds insult to injury regarding my obliterated 50,000 word limit...
I'm gonna try and keep the story under 150,000 words, but I'm sure I'll break that, too...
Anyway, I'm really sorry for the wait, but I've just started college, and stop frame animations take a long time...
I've just got to pre-read the chapter, then I'll upload it tonight...
Once again, sorry for the wait...

Hmmmm...
Hhhhhnnnnnngggggg ahhh. Did you read that because that was my textgasm
what?
Your story wasn't finished!?
In the name of -- Okay, I haven't read anymore of your story since that one day, but GOOD LORD, MAN!! How are you gonna make this play out if it hasn't already over 50,000 WORDS!?
Celestia, who do you think you are? The Suzanne Collins of Equestria!?
377387 This is for the sequel to my first story which I've finished...
Story 1: 170,000 words.
Story 2: 80,000 words and counting.
Total words: A FUCKLOAD OF WORDS!
377414 oh. well, whoops.
Still, though. How do you continue to drag the plot over for soooo looooooonnnnnng?¿?¿?
Jeez. (no offense)
377846 I don't know, but I annoy myself that I can't write something short and sweet, as whenever I try, it turns into a novel!
377968 Here, I can get you some help on that. Here's some pointers:
1) Don't have more than three settings in one chapter. If you move too much too fast, you'll confuse certain people.
2) Make cliffhangers. If you're getting too far from your approximation of words, throw in a cliffhanger. That'll also make people reading check more often.
3) NEVER, if you can help it, let your chapters' word limit get too outlying. Don't have one chapter be like 2,000 words, then have the next one like 15,000 words. You don't see that in some great thrillers nowadays, do you? The only exceptions are prologues and epilogues.
4) If you feel like adding some more to your chapter, check your word amount before you do. If you have too little, then add some and then put a cliffhanger. If you can't squeeze it in comfortably, just think of a way to end the chapter until you can get to that part of the plot.
Those are the main four tips I follow by in my story, anyway.
Hope it helps.
Please don't think I'm telling you how to write. I'm just throwing some tips out...
