Hearth's Warming Eve by Admiral Biscuit
(Slice of Life)
It's a snowy winter day in Ponyville, and everypony is home...except one mailmare, struggling to finish her rounds before she can get home to her family.

Review
Derpy is out delivering the mail in the cold winter. She gets home.

This story knows how to pace, it has an extremely short plot and knows how to be short and sweet for that plot. It has very few errors, which is a great plus. It also feels planned out, especially considering how there is no plot really. The tag fits as well.

Score: 9/10 Recommendation: Worth Reading.

Personal Thoughts: Very short-and-sweet, and a good read.

Say Goodby to the Hollandaise: A Hearth's War(ming) Tail by WishyWish
(Comedy, Random, Slice of Life)
Hearth's Warming's glow is alive in every heart. As a gesture of kindness to their friends, three ponies toil away in the great hall of the Palace of Friendship, creating a fine feast to usher in the season. But what happened to the hollandaise? How will everypony face its loss? What happens when no condiment is left behind and is hollamustaketchsrirachanaise sauce any good over steamed asparagus? These questions and more will be answered within! Happy Hearth's Warming!

Review
Twilight, Fluttershy, and Pinkie made food for Hearth's Warmings, but Fluttershy can't find the Hollandaise for her mother's recipe. They find Spike and Starlight having a war over/ with condiments. They join in, and more friends come over, who then join as well. Finally, Celestia and Luna show up and join in too. Twilight relearns the point of Hearth's Warming is to have fun and enjoy your friends.

This story is quite well paced, though there are a couple rough spots in the beginning. It has few errors in the text. It also feels very planned out, but also with a little room for improv/ comedy. The tags most definitely fit.

Score: 8/10 Recommendation: Recommended.

Personal Thoughts: The Princess Bride for the win!!!! (If you read, and catch it, then you will understand).

Luna Just Learned About The Play "A Hearth's Warming Carol" by Singularity Dream
(Comedy
A tale of miserable miser Princess Celestia and her transformation into a kind and caring benefactor after visits on one Christmas Eve from the Spirits of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come. More accurately: After an incredibly busy day, the kind and benevolent Princess Celestia just wants to sleep. Apparently, mysterious (and utterly unknowable) cosmic forces (spooky!) are going to visit her with visions regardless. (Come inside and witness the literary butchery I visit upon a timeless classic. Hopefully, the jokes will make you laugh at least once so I can use the distraction to escape.)

Review
Luna plays some pranks on Celestia, and they are not very good. Celestia decides to play along, though. It ends up being nice.

This story has ok pacing for a comedy, but not very good pacing for a story. It has very few errors in the text, which always helps. It also feels quite planned out, but also as if the author tried to add some random and failed. The tag fits, though.

Score: 6/10 Recommendation: Intermediate.

Personal Thoughts: A good story if you are looking for something short about Hearth's Warming.

A White Hearth's Warming by Chris
(Slice of Life)
A young Sunset Shimmer, spending her first Hearth’s Warming in Canterlot as Princess Celestia’s personal student, comes to the terrible realization that there’s not going to be any snow for the holiday. She decides to do something about it.

Review
Sunset Shimmer is devastated that there is no snow for Hearth's Warming, so after looking into the history she decides to be mean to everyone to try and get the windigos to come. Celestia, after rebuking her, gathers a team of volunteers to get snow to fall.

This story has great pacing, it is short enough to make it a fast read, while long enough to feel complete. It has few errors, which makes it better. Furthermore, it feels very planned out, but with just the just enough improv to add comedy. The tag fits well enough, though it also feels as though it could use something else.

Score: 8/10 Recommendation Worth Reading.

Personal Thoughts: Sunset you idiot... anyway, fairly good read.

I see you beat me to the punch on that Hearth's Warming review idea. :duck: Got a lot of stories on that Holiday Stuff bookshelf!

I have to say, I'm probably going to end up reading Say Goodbye to the Hollandaise simply because of its title, which is genius.

To be completely honest, I only read it because of the title.

Thank you for the review! I'm glad you thought it was so well put together; a lot of the credit for that has to go to Pascoite, who edited/pre-read for me, and did his usual wonderful job.

Personal Thoughts: Sunset you idiot...

Heh, that's about the length and breadth of it. Thanks again!
