Observant readers may have noticed that The Rescue Service is overdue for a new chapter.
Unfortunately it will probably remain overdue for quite some time yet. I had a crisis of confidence and started second-guessing my plans for the ending I was aiming at, so I decided to let it simmer on the back burner for a while. Realistically, the final chapter (or the next-to-final one if it grows too long in the writing) may hit the shelves in early/mid January 2017, but we'll see. Just so you know.
Meanwhile, I've spent some time on a little side project: Dominant Creed, which is a piece of Recursive Fanfiction for Manifest Harmony's Clocktower Society stories. If you like The Rescue Service, chances are good you'll enjoy Dominant Creed too. It's written to be read independently, so don't let it stop you that you haven't read the original 60,000-words-and-counting story.
Also, (since I need to toot my horn somewhere), Creed got into the "real" part of the feature box! Big thanks to Manifest and her army of volunteer hypesters who got it there within an hour of publication, and to the satisfied readers who subsequently propelled it up to the top spot where it stayed for about 14 hours. You're all awesome! As of this writing Creed has dropped to second spot, but in the 25 hours since publication it has already outraced TRS on upvotes. That's the feature box for you, though -- warping all the numbers.
