In the End These Things Matter Most complete

Finally finished my latest Tidra fic. It was a bit of a struggle since I was trying to restrict the story to a reasonable length (and one that fit the chapter naming scheme, of course...). Still, I rather liked how it turned out. By the way, for those wondering about the random dragon at the end, that would be this

    Love & Cookies

So I wasn't originally going to enter the Kilala fanfic contest due to being very busy the last couple months, but Imaginary Valued twisted my arm, so I spent the last week writing up a quick little something. It's probably not good enough to win any contests given that I only took a week out of the two months the contest was going on to do it, and I was pretty busy even for that week since I

    Atlas Strongest Tournament: Complete!

So I finally posted the last chapter of Atlas Strongest Tournament. And, yes, it's totally sequel-hook central and I'm not sorry. I've actually been sitting on this for a bit, but between working on my graduate classes last month and doing all kinds of stupid Army things the past week or two I hadn't had the chance to refine everything. The last chapter was actually going to be a lot

In the End, These Things Matter Most

So I've published a new story, again based in the Kilalaverse and starring my favorite character, Princess Nidra! Well, kind of. It's more from the point of view of Turquoise Blitz's children, Apollo and Oasis, at least from the first chapter. However, the story is mainly focused on T and Ni becoming an actual

    Penultimate Atlas Strongest Tournament chapter

    Soon...

I'm actually done writing; just waiting on editing and doing some illustrations for it. It only took a couple days when I finally got down to it after working on some other projects. I really want to finish this fic up, though. Get ready for a real royal rumble.

I'm Not Your Sister · 3:51pm Sep 20th, 2012

This little one-shot started when I was watching the FiM premier again, and I realized how odd it was that everypony, even Twilight, seemed so surprised that Celestia and Luna were sisters. I mean, Twilight had just read that Nightmare Moon was the sister of the unicorn who rose the sun, and the existence of Nightmare Night proves that everypony else should at least have a basic idea of who Nightmare Moon is (even if Pinkie Pie couldn't guess). It seemed odd. I thought to myself, "What if she isn't Nightmare Moon's sister. What if everyone's assumptions are wrong and alicorns are really just mortal ponies like everypony else?" At that point I started writing, relying on a lot of reaction comedy--a bit British, really, with Celestia explaining things like they were normal and expected and Luna being completely floored by each revelation. Then I thought of Luna's design change while I was in the middle of it, and how Nightmare Moon nor Luna when she first appeared in episode 2 spoke in any way like in Luna Eclipsed, and that gave me a new idea, which turned the story remarkably macabre at the end (I also had to edit Luna's CV speech patterns for the first part, which probably ruined a bit of the comedic aspect). Basically, this was just a little exercise in working through some of the minor inconsistencies of the show involving the princesses in the most over the top manner possible. I've seen stories that have the two passing on their powers before, but everyone still tends to treat them as undeniably long-lived and super powerful. Hopefully, even though this was a bit of a lark on my part, it will inspire someone who may want to work with this kind of idea in the future. Obviously, this pretty much exists in an entirely different continuity from my other stories.

P.S. I think my favorite part of doing this was drawing Stallestia. Still came out rather good looking in spite of being obviously on the masculine side.
