Hey everyone, dunno if you're interested (but hopefully you are if you are reading this), but I've been working on a super rough draft of what the HKS Aurora Dancer looks like.
This is nowhere near finished, the ventral side will be way less of a mirror of the dorsal, all of the AA needs to be updated, and I still need to update all of the radars and do-hickeys to something more sci-fi.
But for right now, it's basically a WWII ship mirrored vertically.
Some deets, reading is non mandatory.
At the current junction Aurora is equipped with:
8 × triple 6 in (150 mm)/47 caliber railguns
16 × dual 5 in (130 mm)/38 caliber guns
24 × 1.60 in (40 mm) Autocannons (2 × 4, 2 × 2)
40 × 0.79 in (20 mm) Autocannons

Just realized the rear ventral battery was shifted a tiny bit rearward, needless to say my latest version has this fixed.
I trust that the propulsion is hidden away and protected in the thicker rear?
Does that mean she has a thicker pony rear?
If her new bodily nature calls and she has to release exces fule pressure
will it come out of her flank as a flaming ball of glory?
I'm only kidding.
Send help, I have issues.
It kind of reminds me of the Cleveland class cruiser of the U.S . o.O But great nonetheless ;)
4311025 it's literally just that. Dunno why, but I kind of fell in love with the look of the Cleveland, it was love at first sight on a Jingle vid.
4310999 Out of her wings, also funnily enough, if she was human, she would have the hugest of racks. She is very well frontally armored.

4310999 I've added more AA and ornamentation. I'm not sure if I will keep the original Oerliken guns. They just seem a little underpowered in this setting. I'm not sure why she would need such small caliber guns.

ok, so not to be a dick but you OD on this, dont have two of those towers on each side, have it on one side, the sides shouls be some what curved, aa cannons are patented, there should be a armor in the front, maybe and open place for a partical cannon supper weapon
4311354 Uh, no. There is no place to mount a weapon. The entire hull forwards of the main guns is one solid armor plate except for those two AA mounts. It'd be silly to compromise it.
I'm going to have towers on each side, just not the same towers. Gonna take the time to redo the bottom ones. Partly the idea is is that the entire citadel (important inner armored section) is those towers going all the way through the hull. Though I'm no 100% on the idea.
and it is curved, it's less a triangle and more a toothpaste tube shape, a cylinder with one end pinched flat.
4311731side of ships in space have cannons all the time. it would not compramise it.
4311795 No, you don't understand, most of her forward hull is one continuous armor plate. A plate that costs as much as a new ship to modify.
Also, I found super weapons rather silly. They exist in installation form, but the way "shields" work in this setting, a one hit super weapon just doesn't cut it. Her shields can always defeat one round, no matter the size, weight, or power.
Plus, she needs a ton of room for food and stuff, it's a multi month patrol vessel.
