Last few episodes of Season 6 · 9:44pm Nov 13th, 2016
Well, I know I've got about 5 regular viewers and at least one of them actually reads these blogs, so I'm going to just say what I thought about the last couple of episodes so that I can sleep with a clear conscience or whatever.
P.P.O.V. (Pony Point of View)
PPOV was a plot that I think I've seen before? Anyways, it didn't make for a very exciting episode except for the fact that we got an interesting insight into what AJ, Rarity, and Pinkie think of each other.
Where the Apple Lies
When I first saw the episode title "Where the Apple Lies", you have know idea how excited I was. I thought that perhaps we would finally get to find out more about AJ's parents, but we just got this weird plot about how AJ lied as a kid.
... ... ... ...
Yeah, it's understatement to say that I was super disappointed with what the plot actually was.
Top Bolt
Finally, we have an episode that doesn't suck!!! This was one of the episodes that I saw the title for and immediately got super excited for. However, unlike "Where the Apple Lies", this episode actually delivered on my personal hype that I was giving it. We got brand new waifu material and shipping fodder out of the same character and some character interaction between "T-Sparks" and "The Dashinator" that was popularized during "Testing, Testing, 1, 2, 3".
To Where and Back Again (Part 1+2)
Finally...we have the finale. The glorious finale that did so many things right; including, but not limited to:
1) Cementing Derpy/Muffins' role as a mailpony
2) Bringing back Queen mother f–––ing Chrysalis
3) Incapacitating the Mane Six for the entire story
4) Having a band of reformed villains replace them
5) Bringing semi-credence to a lot of DisneyFanatic's work with the Bride of Discord series
This is honestly my favorite two parter that the show has given us. That spot used to be held by the Season 5 Premiere, because the premise is just so risque for the show. Tell me if this sounds the least bit family friendly: Twilight and Company are sent to a Neo-Marxist cult in the middle of nowhere. They are captured and are robbed of their individuality and talents forcibly by the cult leader, a unicorn mare named Starlight Glimmer, who proceeds to literally brainwash them into a state of mind that talents are evil and the only way for friendship to thrive is for all members of a group to be mathematically equal to one another.
Why am I so into two-parters that incapacitate the mane six?
Anyways, that's all for today! I'll see you all in Season 7.
