    Author update!

I'm editing stuff! But also incredibly dried out of writing power atm. I'll get going again soon, but just bear with me for a bit. I'm publishing a chapter of XCOM today, then start on the daily writing (not publishing) again tomorrow morning. In the meantime, always remember:

    Remembering Koji Wada

Like every year, I like to remember the man/legend responsible for the theme songs of one of my favorite shows of all time on the anniversary of his death.

So if you were wondering about the timing for the latest Isekai chapters? There you go.

    Welp, here's a life update

These last couple of weeks have been a bit of a rollercoaster. Good things have happened, and also bad ones. No wonder I could relate to both Furina and Navia in the latest Isekai chapter. Sometimes pretending things are fine is really exhausting, even if they do get better.

Update to the Isekai coming tonight! And some additional details and change of plans.

First, to everyone waiting patiently for the next Isekai chapter, I apologize for the delay. I know there are a lot of people that want to see another visit to Hell happen soon, and it will, I promise. However, due to some circumstances, I decided for a different pair of visitors to visit the bar this week.

Election · 12:03pm Nov 9th, 2016

No. I'm not happy.

But the bottom line is that as much as I disagree with the views and political stance of those that would support such a person as Donald Trump—someone that I have seen express the most divisive lies and opinions as I've ever seen in any political arena across three countries, not only in hearsay but video, radio, social media posts—at the end of the day, the majority supported him. May the following 4 years prove me wrong, but fighting around and attacking either side shouldn't be something we do now.

So try to keep it civil, guys.

May the following 4 years prove me wrong, but fighting around and attacking either side shouldn't be something we do now.

On the contrary, dear Site Moderator, the fight will intensify. Where, I cannot say.

the majority supported him

Much as it pains me to admit, Clinton is still likely to win the popular vote. This election would have been a lot closer if electoral college delegates were split by percentage.

I thought the attack ads in 2008 and 2012 were bad, but man the propaganda around this election was simply vile. I've always hated the news, but this year has definitely convinced me that I will never, ever read a news publication or purchase any sort of subscription.

Just uncut video for me. I can skip the boring parts if I want.

It's like they somehow figured out how to get people to watch and somehow understand less.

4292043 I know, its crazy just how every mainstream media outlet slandered Trump at every chance they got!

KMCA #5 · Nov 9th, 2016 · · 2 ·

4292052 How much was slander and how much was just repeating what he said.

4292031

How do you think the people across the pond voted for the "Brexit" too?

Welcome to 2016, the "Year of Idiocy".

I just pray that these next 4 years are swift and painless.

4292078 I get to grow up with this guy as my president.

enamis #8 · Nov 9th, 2016 · · 4 ·

4292068 Considering for months my side of the world was bombarded with every qoute under the sun taken out of context and people calling him the next hitler, theres a reason I gave up listening to them

4292078
I don't care its not my country and its not gonna touch me in any way :D I will see how idiocracy started

4292081 I think some of my friends won't get the chance to grow at all with him as President.

4292025 Unless we Californians become our own country again and take up arms against Trump, there probably won´t be a Civil War II

Fifteen years from now, I'm probably going to have to explain this election to my niece and nephew. I'm not looking forward to that.

4292092 As depressed as I feel I refuse to kill myself over my president.

Dont worry, the mental programming from the team of Cognitive scientists Hillary employed will be broken eventually. New Hitler did not get elected. Everything will be just fine.

4292104 I hope that's sarcastic...

at the end of the day, the majority supported him

Hillary's actually ahead in the popular vote. The Electoral College screwed us yet again.

4292101 I'm in a similar boat. My niece is a year and a half, and I have another on the way in March. Eventually they'll hit Social Studies classes and I, being the family scholar, will have to explain what the actual fuck happened in 2016 around the world.

4292126
4292101

explain what the actual fuck happened in 2016 around the world.

Uneducated neckbeards came out of their basements and voted for an oompa-loompa. There, I summarised it for you.

4292136

From what I've seen of the demographics, it was the uneducated rural rednecks that came out in droves. (It's always been my experience that the basement neckbeards live in urban areas, and those went predominantly to Clinton). But I digress.

I don't expect the question from my niece and nephew to be 'how was he elected.' I expect the question to be 'why did so many people vote for someone who says those things?' And for that I have no answer... at least not one I can share without wanting to vomit.

4292136 The first step to tyranny is to label your opponents as subhuman.

I get it. You don't like Trump. I don't like Trump. Were I an american I wouldn't have voted for him (nor for Hillary).

But everyone seems to be falling into the trap of grouping every single person who did vote for him into whatever is the popular label for "people I don't like", and then running with it. This entire election has been one long series of godwins, one never-ending stream of epithets designed to dehumanise the opposition.

Can you not see the irony?

You've decided that everyone who didn't agree with you must be evil.

4292159 If we as a race can't escape the traps that have besetted us since the beginning, why try to resist it?

4292159 Same. Out of all the things to call someone it's the BRONY calling someone a NECKBEARD. Irony, thy name is you

Kind of hard to trust any sort of media when there is clear evidence of corruption among this group.

Nice work Yanks! Proud Brexiter here! Don't worry things will only get better.

I am definitely not happy. I really didn't expect this...

It's really baffling to me why people treat others who have differing opinions as the enemy, that the disagreed no longer bring anything good to life or joy to the lives of others. In this case, both candidates weren't great, there were lots of undesirable traits from them both. Either way, someone wasn't going to be happy and their would be plenty of Glissip (Urban Dictionary) moments to be shared by all. Lets just stick through this and try to scratch our way through another four years living on this rock.

4292136 I hope I can muster a bit more eloquence when the time comes. Lay out the strings of causality that come with the dual benefit of having been here and hindsight, maybe. That and I'd prefer not to teach my little charges to call people names.

Except getting her to call grandma a dork. That's hilarious. Definitely keeping that train going as long as I can.

If we as a race can't escape the traps that have besetted us since the beginning, why try to resist it?

Rising above our baser urges is what being human is all about. Doing more. Being better. I'd rather not pass back through the plains and into the trees... though a Safari does sound kind of lovely now that I think about it.

I too would like to add my voice to those calling for tolerance and civility. I know it's going to be a tumultuous time ahead for America, but none of us will get anywhere by insulting or demeaning the opposition. We're all human in the end. Election season is done now. Let the divide end.

So like, I love the fact that Canada's web service for immigration crashed because people are already fleeing the country in droves.

And Donald Trump doesn't even take office until 2017

4292108

What? The part about Hillary employing cognitive scientist to set the narrative in your mind that he is new Hitler, or that everything will be perfectly fine?

Because no, I was not sarcastic. The sky is not falling, the sun will shine, and the new Trumpenreich is not rising.

4292382 Sorry, I misinterpreted your comment. I thought you meant that Hillary was New Hitler.

Hopefully, the Democrats will filibuster everything he tries to get through congress.

4292431

Like the tax reforms that will actually help and actually tax the rich? https://www.donaldjtrump.com/policies/tax-plan

4292431 PRoblem is that Republicans have total control of Congress, and Senate.

4292457
Is that the one that will repeal the "death tax" (actually the estate tax) which only applies to estates over $5.45 million dollars and thus only applies to about 2 out of every 1000 estates (o.2% of Americans) anyway?

4292497

Why don't you click on the link and read it all. Then you can come back and comment.

I feel it for you, Wanderer D. And I feel it for my cousin in Chicago and his family.

You know what I love. How the left insinuated that they were the tolerant ones and victims throughout all of this and will continue to:

I'm with you big time, D, except that I felt the same way about both sides, so I was going to be unhappy for 4 years no matter what. What I agree with even more is that we can have civil discussions and recognize that it's the nature of a democracy that it's not always going to do what we want it to, though most forms of government are even more prone to that. And most people angry about Hillary's loss are using the same arguments they so easily dismissed by Romney's supporters in the last election, the same being true of the winners in each case as well.

Glad to see someone can keep a level head.

4292159 Hear, hear. It's a hallmark of political discourse to brand your opponent and his/her supporters as something easily dismissed, when in actuality, they're real people with real concerns they feel one candidate or the other better addresses. They may be issues that don't affect me, they may be issues I don't agree with, but that doesn't mean I automatically get to say they don't matter and dehumanize them.

Americans have made their choice and must now live with the consequences whether they are good or bad depending on the situation. If I can say one thing here, minority groups might start to feel that their lives are in danger, so they may or may not consider leaving the U.S. This election has exposed the U.S. by opening up a racial wound, and other countries may or may not change their perspective as a result.

With you, Wanderer. Still scared as all hell, mind.

4292616
>minority groups might start to feel that their lives are in danger
Can someone explain this to me without "ARE YOU KIDDING ME, WOW JUST WOW."

Is it about illegals? Because I'm half Mexican and my dad's a legal immigrant that picked grapes so we don't have any guilt for despising them. He followed the law and they don't.

Is it something else I'm missing?

4292644

That's why I said "might" meaning that my words are mere speculation and from what I've been seeing and hearing about it. I live in Canada--I feel safer here--so my perspective is from the outside looking in. Who knows what will happen, yet I stand by what I said regarding consequences. Americans have voted--I've accepted that despite my heart not feeling the same way--and the democratic process worked... kind of given the electoral vs. popular vote.

So this is what it's like on the other side. Eight years ago, I had family members who were screaming that Obama was the death of America.

So try to keep it civil, guys.

Agreed. While one could go into detail as to why this is either the best or worst thing to ever happen. I think we all just have to remember that no matter the results, we should all remain tolerant, caring, and compassionate to all no matter what. We don't need to be mean or rude to others, no matter what the president says or doesn't say.

In the end, it's up to us to uphold the good in humanity no matter who represents a nation. We have our own voices, our own opinions. Don't forget that.

at the end of the day, the majority supported him.

I don't think it's not so much that they supported Trump (most of them, at least, or so I'd like to believe) as much as they wanted to give the "establishment" the middle finger. And I get it--I don't like the establishment either. That's why I supported Bernie. But is Voldemort-in-a-clown-wig really the only alternative to the establishment that we could find?

4292800 Such is the art of the compromise.
