This is...frustrating · 12:08am Oct 26th, 2016
I've been working towards the plot of X8 for a while, prepared to use it to tie a lot of things together before moving on to the plot of Command Mission.
I even set things up for X8 with the end of the X7 arc, ready to tie it all together with an epic run through.
Now that I actually look at the plot of the game, though...
...I'm not sure it actually applies in the MotF timeline.
...I don't know what to do.
Edit: Okay, since people are missing the point...
In order for my planned plot for Command Mission to work out. The conflict events surrounding the Jakob Project have to happen - and for real - but my present timeline gives no justification for the Jakob Project to be initiated.
Edit 2: And I'm feeling much better now, thanks to a couple of suggestions regarding tweaking the purpose regarding the Jakob Project, which will help me out greatly as far as writing.
weird idea but what about making it a game or movie the group makes and releases to the public? it'd let you use te game without trying to adjust everything about it to fit into canon.

The problem is specific events from within the game that I need to have happen in order for my planned plot for Command Mission to play out properly.
4271231 ok altered idea. Have it start out as a movie type project but then a virus gets into peoples systems making them believe its real (like that snafu young justice episode)
Dream sequence?

4271231 Which events exactly? Maybe I can help.
4271235
There aren't any viruses anymore, and that still misses the point that-
4271245
the events have to really happen for things to work!

See the edit.

4271254 Hmm, if there aren't anymore viruses, why couldn't a new one be created by Sigma? One that hasn't had any immunities or counters against it yet seeing how Sigma in the story is back ready to restart a war when in canon he should be dead and a fake having to be fought if I'm understanding X8's plot right. He could do something original in the story that isn't in the games but your story only to give a reason for the project to happen. Maybe even get help from another major villain(s) from the Megaman timeline to cause problems on Earth thus leading to the initiative to activate the Jakob Project.

So...Sigma creates some new threat that leads to the Jakob Project being initiated as a means of evacuating civilians out of the disaster zone to give the Maverick Hunters and their allies a clear battlefield to fight Sigma and co on...and then it all happens as a result of that?
...I think I can work with that. Maybe not a virus, but Jakob Project as 'get civilians to safety' as opposed to 'get humans out of reach of Reploids' could work. I'll need to make some tweaks to personality and motivation (like I've never done that before ), but I think I can make it work. Thanks.
Real One: The almighty writer Tatsurou is not able to tie plot lines together? Well, that's something I never thought I would see.
True One: Try changing the Project Jakob a little bit, as I remember they use the elevator to send resources to the moon, so work with that and forget about the "Maverick Occurrences rising" a bit, or maybe use it, if Sigma returned after all what happened in 5, maybe humanity and the robots that are immune (I don't quite remember if the later is true) want to go a far as possibly from Sigma, only to find him in the Moon.
Hells Fire: And let's not forget about X6, that didn't happen, or maybe they will, I don't know what the plot, because we only played X1,2,3,5 and 8.
4271270 Anytime. If you need ideas for a Major villain or a team who would share interests in ruining the Earth or humanity, there is still a major threat out there that Classic Megaman fought and destroyed in canon but since they never showed up in your story's timeline, they're still out there biding their time and can be seen as coming to Earth 100 years late but just as ready to tear crap up. X and Co. might have to deal with them this time if you use them..the source of the evil energy itself that were never dealt with that jumpstarted the events of MMX originally 100 years before events, the Stardroids. It would make things interesting for sure, instead of 8 Mavericks X and Co. have 16 enemies to deal with not counting Sigma and the other villains from X8. The Stardroids and Mavericks.
While I may not have any remarkable ideas to toss your way, my birthday passed by me recently, and you seem frustrated.
Have a digital cake & hug.

Thanks.
As the one game in the series I've beaten repeatedly, I was under the belief that the Jakob Project was meant to be a reboot of the (by that point) ancient space programs of the US and Russia. Sigma just wanted to seize control of it because space development was the new big thing, and whoever controlled the Elevator had a lot of power.
Of course, Sigma isn't the true big bad this time...
this just comes to show tats that you are really good writer asking for help all the good one do that looking for different point of view and advice to help their stories good job

Thanks.
Variant of roboenza that has mutated not to cause robots to go berzerk, but instead causes them to listen to the first person that they hear a command from, or who created the virus (sigma). That's my idea hope it helps, and keep up the fantastic work on your stories, they are some of the best around
