I'VE BEEN CHEATING ON MLPFIM! Also some new episode mini-reviews · 1:41am Oct 16th, 2016
Hello again! It's nearly halfway through Spookstober, and I bet you're all wondering when those chapter updates are coming! Well, two days after my status update blog post, my attention to FIM and my fanfics of it was diverted by the siren call of Steven Universe.
Hell Universe Collab Video Announcement
So I stopped writing for awhile to focus my energies into editing multiple video clips for this project. It's my first time making fanworks for SU. That makes almost two weeks with no progress on my new chapters. However, yesterday, the deadline passed, so now I'm going back to my fics to try and make those by-the-end-of-the-month updates that I mentioned in my last post.
Also, I'd like to share some thoughts on the last four singular episodes of MLP Season Six. HERE BE SPOILERS. (But not for the finale. I don't watch leaks.)
Every Little Thing She Does:
Starlight's initial solution to the problem is hilariously twisted. It's great to see her cope with her social inabilities, and I'm glad to see her pull through. Not much else to say, other than it's another episode which made me glad Starlight's on the team. Also, you don't need to end every episode with somepony laughing. How much more fitting would it be if they just silently relaxed before the fade out?
P.P.O.V.:
Isn't it funny how a friendship can break and be mended at the drop of a hat? Well, hold on to your Stetsons, I didn't find this episode very interesting. The way that Rarity, AJ and Pinkie recharacterize or flanderize each other had some comedic value, but the dilemma, the mystery, and the reveal all fell flat for me.
Where the Apple Lies:
Always nice to see different perspectives on characters via different points in their lives, but it makes me disappointed that we still haven't seen AJ's parents, and that we didn't even see a baby Applebloom. It was nice to see nonetheless, but the disappointment doubles when the whole family ending up in the hospital is taken LITERALLY and nopony gets hurt. The ending is otherwise predictable, but Big Mac's resolution regarding AJ is fairly heartwarming. It's alright. Also, STOP LAUGHING! IT'S JUST CIDER!
