Princess Luna never asked for a guard to be stationed directly beneath her private balcony, nor did she welcome his sudden appearance, nor could she wait to speak with him again.

Princesses, Part 1 · 6:05pm Oct 12th, 2016

The reading of Water Pony chapter two is up!

Ready for a new story?

Ideas come from weird places. Take this one, for instance:

Back in April, I stopped by the author’s party at BABSCon and chatted with a few people. Horizon complimented my Luna shirt and uttered the words “Best Princess.” For whatever reason this interaction knocked around in my head for a few hours until I resolved to write something featuring said Princess of The Night.

And then I promptly forgot all about it.

Fast forward a few months to my reading Horizon’s excellent Thou Goddess, remembering the party, remembering my Luna pledge, and here you go:

Luna discovers a lone member of the Royal Night Guard stationed beneath her private balcony. As a question becomes a conversation, as an evening becomes a week, and as an annoyance becomes a friendship, an unfortunate truth looms large in her mind: nothing is ever as it seems, neither in dreams nor reality.

Well, even if — for some crazy reason — I weren't going to read this story that's right up my fictional alley, I kind of have to now.

I thought this one sounded familiar as I read the description. c.c

This is what happens when you evoke "Best Princess" :raritywink:

The lack of hands (soft or otherwise) probably made this one a little less memorable :rainbowwild:

I'm literally going to have to reread it because I don't remember my impression of the story. D:
