I'll be honest, with the way things were going, I honestly didn't think anyone was going to bite for the editor position. And I can understand.
I mean, it takes a bit of conviction and enthusiasm to entice someone to proofread a story until such time as that story is finished, au gratis.
But after the last three straight weeks of one-a-week updates, a great guy by the name of RTStephens came forward. He's edited for such writers as John Perry and Arcainum, who some of you folks might recognize for authoring a few other fics on Equestria Daily.
Already he's helped me immeasurably, because having an editor I can contact on Skype means no more ponychan training grounds, which means no more month-long waiting periods just for someone to pick it up and give it a once-over. So, in-theory, story updates should be infinitely more frequent.
That said however, I'm working on commissioning an artist for my chapter art, since from here on in it's going to need much bigger character-based pieces. This could potentially delay chapters a bit, but even if I can only get one commission through per month, that's one more chapter a month than I've been doing for the main part. I think I recall having zero updates to this story from August 2011 all the way to April of this past year, so however you slice it, it's an improvement.

Now, pretty certain this image is a total coincidence, but who knows. If I knew nothing about art, I probably could have used this image to serve as a pretty accurate cover image for the entire story. I mean, Spike, the crying, the burning library reflected in her eyes... this struck me, and I thought I'd share it.
Anyway, back to the ol' grindstone. But of course, Black Mesa Source releases in about five hours, so I'll probably need to do that first.
Thanks for reading folks! The view-count, favorites and comments spiked higher than ever after chapter seven, and while Black Equinox isn't exactly what you'd call a "hit" yet, I feel as fired-up about it as ever.
Heh. I never even saw this when it was posted. Well, you know *I'll* always give you free critique and stuff on this beautiful behemoth of yours. It is, after all, the best Dark story I've seen from this fandom.
That said, I hope RT is doing you good. I know I'd never make a decent editor, especially for a story this long. Keep on keeping on, cuz whatever you're doing with this story, it's got me hooked.
