Update On Me and Patreon Question. · 12:49am Sep 10th, 2016
Hey guys... For a start, I would like to apologize for not updating Lightnings Bet lately, but there is a reason for that. I am about 6k words into the new chapter, but real life has caught up with me and I am extremely busy until Christmas. The reason for this is because I signed onto an art projects with a few other artist for a big book of pony smut that you guys will be able to buy in the future. Another reason is because an opportunity popped up for me that could help me get out of my shitty day job. Really that is the thing that is killing all my time and I want to get out of there as fast as I can. I think if this opportunity works out and I make enough, then I can quite my day job and focus more on writing and doing art on my free time. Until then I am stuck working around the clock. 
This brings me to my question. I was wondering if I made a Patreon for my art and maybe for my writing, would you guys be interested? For rewards I would give people early access to art and stories (if I add that), but it would mostly just be a tip jar for those who are willing to help me out. My main goal is to just make enough to get by so I can quite my day job and work on this stuff more, and if I do a Patreon, I might be able to reach that goal faster. So, just let me know if that is something you might be interested in.
I hate asking for help, but I really don’t know what else to do. I want to start writing again, but real life is putting a stop to that... Anyways, just let me know what you think, and I’m sorry its been so long since I've updated anything.

I don't think most people will have a problem with you making a patreon, if means getting your work faster. I've seen a few tumblar artist create patreons (usely pony smut) with great success. So in my humble in opinion I say yes. I myself will not be in place too donate because of school, but others on more stable footing, can and probably will.

As for Patreon: I have no money. Otherwise, I'd definitely be on that list.
I'm sure people would want to help. Just make sure you let them know it exists. I do not have enough money to donate, but you still have my support.
Really, don't worry too much. Anyone can understand how real life treats most of us.

I'd sign up for a patreon for Lightning's Bet chapters, but not sure how it would affect you in any meaningful way. Patreon is usually only a small percentage of a normal salary and it sounds like you need a fair amount if your quiting your job. Sounds like you need to take a bank loan to make that work, or simply wait and save up as much as possible first, with the Patreon acting as a simple way to increase your income from your hobby.

I've never done Patreon, but would consider doing so because I love your work (writing and art). If not Patreon, could you accept PP donations? Also, is there some way to purchase prints of your artwork? I'd love to be able to buy some high quality prints of your pony smut, maybe various sizes?
Just a thought.
I believe you'd find of your follower there are plenty that would be willing to contribute if it means more of your awesome work.

Yeah, I was thinking about giving people a PP to donate to if they would rather do that, but idk if thats allowed here.
I was also thinking about getting a way for people to buy prints of my stuff, but... I have no idea how to do that... A lot of my stuff is not very family safe, so I don't know who would print them. I would have to buy I big printer to do that.

i run patreon account for a friend and support few people myself, i like the stuff they do and throwing few bits a month to be able to enjoy more stuff isn't too bad of a "deal" to me.
due to the high volume of artist i support (currently 16... ) i might need to re adjust my funds but i would still like to support.
might even consider a commission art at some point, hadn't had my oc done for some time

Not sure how you'd handle printing out the NSFW artwork. Maybe your fellow artists on this super secret project would have some ideas or advice. Selling prints might also be a way to tap followers reluctant to use Patreon for funds. I know I'd be interested in at least half a dozen quality prints, maybe even posters, of your work (the naughtier the better).
I've made my views on Patreon pretty loud and clear in the past. While I can't (and wouldn't) stop you from doing it a lot of people have lost respect from me for HOW they use it.
Tread carefully and remember that if you neglect your non-paying fans you will not only lose them but not gain many new ones.
Also keep the clop book close to your chest. Hasbro will probably C&D that since it's not what they want done with their brand. Online is one thing but hard copies make things a lot riskier.

There really aren't a lot of places that would print, umm... stuff that I do. That is why I would have to invest in a printer and do it myself. I think if enough people show interest, then I would differently get a big printer to make some posters for people.
