Well, I'm using PostImage instead for image links, and it looks like it's decently high quality, though I haven't been taking too close of a look.
So. Wanted to do it. Did it. Here's Lilywater as an Earth Pony, or as she appears for most of my story. Took about a day to draw up and process through Paint Tool Sai, so like its predecessor, it's a fairly simple picture.

Slightly unrelated, but are there any other ways to promote a fic besides posting it to groups? I kinda realize that my fic's already doing pretty darn well, all things considered, probably better than I expected, but I really want to see just how many readers I can reach. I've already tried EqD, but that was almost a month ago, and they haven't said anything besides "It doesn't have a pre-reader yet" about a week ago. I'm almost tempted to send another email about that.

The slickness was something I was debating on at first, but after seeing the same sort of sheen on Aloe and Lotus's manes, I figured that Lily's would probably have the same. It's probably not slime.
As of the moment, I've been going through the groups on other fics to see if there're any I could potentially add my fic to later on. I think it might be a bad sign that I nearly skimmed over the one called "Struggling Authors." As much as I want to say that yes, I'm only a first time author on this website, I keep looking back at the rating on my story and I really start to question whether I qualify as "struggling" sometimes.

I have come to the conclusion that there are points where green and magenta can sometimes not look like shit together.
The hardest part about this would probably have to be the head. I never quite realized how difficult it was to try and imitate Cadence/Fleur's head style until I tried it, and then the swept back mane on top of that was a nightmare to get to look reasonably alright.

EqD's running about 1.5 - 2 months minimum between submission and the "looking at" process. I have this mental image of a mountain of Rainbow Dash's fanfics towering over their building as they work their way through them, one at a time. Trixie's Fire in the Blood was submitted Mar 1 and approved April 22.
I think George RR Martin could submit a story and it would still take a month to process.
