So some of you may be wondering where updates for any of my stories have been, especially my most popular story Rainbow Sentai Harmonyranger. The honest truth is that my muse has been moved to more classic superheroes in non-pony related stories; characters like Spider-Man, Superman, crosses of them, that sort of thing. As such my desire to continue some of my stories has dwindled, not dead, just...less.
Specifically for Harmonyranger I... am honestly dissapointed with how it's turned out. I see what I was trying to do but I also see the glaring plot problems I've had: off screen character development, arcs that seem to go nowhere, an incomplete (or more accurately, too big) cast, and only some of the charm of the shows Power Rangers and Super Sentai.
As I probably mentioned in one of my author's notes, Harmonyranger was inspired by Linkara's History of Power Rangers series. And, like him, I am going re-do the story to make it better. The difference with me is what the changes are going to be. Harmonyranger is very raw and unrefined, it also is set outside any Power rangers continuity with the world being like our own, the Rangers are works of fiction. That's not going to be the case anymore.
In the re-done story:
*Equestria Girls now will take place in the PR universe, a recorded fight being the inspiration.
*Human Twilight will be one of the Morphers creators, along with Sunset and Vinyl.
*The Morphers will now look like Twilight's "Magic Capture Device" and will be buckled to the belt instead of crystals.
*Unikhan will be a General from the start and is now going to be re-used as King Sombra.
*Sombra will be the source of the revamped footsoldiers: Crystlings. Crystalline humanoids that on a camera would be a black/blue bodysuit with icicles sticking out to look like spikes and a skeleton.
*The Dazzlings will be a bit more comic relief, but be mostly unchanged.
*Lyra will be dragging Bon Bon into Bulk & Skull antics, focused on finding out how to become Rangers themselves. Also where the magic came from and where the portal leads.
*Kamen Rider Great Illusionist will still appear (go check out SapphireLibra3's story...and convince her muse to get back to it). However the set up will be slightly different, enough that any inconsistencies in her story can be passed off the same way PR mentioned Masked Rider despite Rider never doing the same.
I intend to at least finish Harmonyranger in a big Five-Parter before I start the re-boot, so don't worry about that. I hope you join me in the future for Power Rangers: Harmony!
as much as I love the current story, as the author it is your decision. I am glad you plan to finish the story rather then leave it dead. Best of luck for the new story. Rangers Harmonize!!
