So.......... · 4:50pm Sep 8th, 2012
For those of you that care enough to read this and are crazy enough to actually kind of enjoy my dumb work...
After the unexpected massive success of Applejack Takes a Math Test , people were like hey, you can write. And I was like.... that's... kewl I guess... just know I got like a C+ or something in my creative writing class I was forced to take in high school (which I absolutely loathed lul).
So, with the help of my awesome proofreader, The Sweezlenub (without whom, my story probably would've looked like a pile of shit with 800 thumbs downs...), I'm going to try something a little new.
A slice-of-life one-shot fic or something more serious like that.
Yeah... it's a little strange for me to do something that's not entirely random or comedy or both, since I have the most immature sense of humor ever, and I basically failed the first time I tried writing serious stuff with The Secrets of Twilight Sparkle's Past and Future because I didn't know shit about writing stories. I'm sorry to say there isn't really much I can do with that fic now... everything I could do has pretty much already been done before (I mean Twilight Alicorn? It's not like anyone's done that before. Can't go that way again...).
But I think I might be able pull off a real story now, since I have a proofreader and a lot more experience.
I'm still not 100% sure whether to make it relatively long one-shot, or a multi-chapter thing. I'm leaning towards one-shot, but I guess I'll do whatever the three people who actually read this blog post want.
Pinkie Pie Takes A Physics Test.
343672 Haha not a terrible idea, might make a good sequel.
Dude yes, Pinkie and physics! That would be pretty darned awesome! Maybe a challenge too if you try not to involve Twilight (even if she is best pony). But maybe a one-shot would be good to start with before tackling a multi-chapter idea. Just to get those writer's gears warmed up ya know? heehee
343733 That is a good idea, and I'll probably do that after I do my slice-of-life fic, which I've already thought of and started. I wasn't really asking for anything here, just letting people know that I'm taking a little break from my usual stuff to take on a new challenge. I'm glad the Pinkie Pie physics test thing came up though, that has potential...

Pinkie's take on the metric vs. the imperial system?
Yes.
So that's what happened with that story. I'm guessing you no longer require my services? For that story, at least?
344599 Yeah, for the time being, I'm sorry to say I don't really require your services anymore on The Secrets.... I apologize, I should have let you know earlier. I guess it slipped my mind whilst writing other stuff, my bad. So I thank you for your services, but I believe there's nothing original that can be done with the fic. Basically, it's become obsolete over time .
However, if a brilliant original idea suddenly comes to me on where to take the story, I'll let you know. K?
Some justification because I feel bad:
Recently, I've just kind of moved on from that type of writing. I didn't enjoy writing The Secrets... at all originally, and I've come to realize that it is infinitely more entertaining to pen comedy/random stories. Judging by this blog post, you can probably tell I'm not a very serious guy. I love making fun of myself (I have absolutely no artistic ability, and am probably one of the very few users here without a DeviantArt account), I'm just immature like that . Thus, it's not all that fun for me to write serious-themed stories.
And you've probably noticed the couple of fics (I'll Have an Order... and Applejack Takes...) that made the feature-box after changing my writing style. I'll admit, it's an absolute joke and I did not deserve to have I'll Have an Order... get featured. Though incredibly entertaining for me to write, that fic is an intentional, hilariously bad, absolute literary pile of trolling crap. I think I can safely say I own the glorious title of authoring the worst story to ever end up in the covetous white box... dl.dropbox.com/u/31471793/FiMFiction/Spike_lolface.png
However, contrary to what this blog post says, I believe Applejack Takes... did earn the feature-box, and it actually is pretty awesome for people to say I'm a good writer. None of my high school English teachers would've ever said that (not that I would've cared at the time, I hated writing essays in high school. ) It was fun to write, my editor was willing to help me out quite a bit, and I actually tried to pen a well-written fun one-shot that not just people like me could enjoy. And I'd say the results turned out pretty good .
So... yeah. I don't know if you've read any of my recent work, but that's pretty much what I'm doing now, and I'm guessing you're probably not too interested in proofreading that. I'm going to stick to what I've been doing, since it's quite a bit more enjoyable for myself (and probably a lot of other people), and the unexpected success I've had whilst doing it has been pretty sweet.
tl;dr?
Basically I just want to thank you for helping me out, but I've kind of moved on. The Secrets... was a chip on my shoulder that I really needed to let go and try something new. Thanks again though! I do appreciate your generosity!
