So, Silent Ponyville 4 may as well be cancelled

Silent Ponyville 4 is a strange enigma, in the sense that, I have the entire story planned out in my head, and even have the notes of what I want to have happen, but I haven't touched the story in such a long time. And every time I sit down to try and work on it, my brain fries, I can't get the words out, and I end up moving on to work on something else. And with FiM having officially ended, and

Disgaea: Disharmony of Friendship - The Story that Never Was

So once upon a time, over on the ye-olde land of Deviant Art, around the same time I was writing Silent Ponyville originally, I was writing a story called Disgaea: Disharmony of Friendship! It was a Disgaea crossover, and I even made a whole flash intro for it and only ever finished Chapter 1 of the fic.

    A public service announcement!

Are you tired of the same old Anon-a-Miss fics that just deal with all the exact same tropes in the exact same way? Tired of them be constantly dreary and depressing, dealing with dark topics that don't befit the original topic? Tired of the Mane 5 being irredeemable monsters for thinking their bully has gone back to being a bully?

Fate/Equestria Girls delayed, not on Hiatus

So my original goal and intention was that Fate/Equestria Girls would get an update at least once a month, 1 chapter every 30 days seemed reasonable and do-able with my current schedule. I'd get my webcomics updates out, I'd be able to take down time for games or personal art and just generally whatever I wanted to do. And it was working out great!

Addressing the concerns of handing the story off · 4:31am Sep 7th, 2012

Alright so I can understand how a few of you are thinking that I should be the one to write the story, how it might change overall or the quality, or it won't be my story anymore.

Well fear not! For I will tell you exactly what I mean when I say that I'm handing the story off!

I am still the director: This is still my story, and I do still plan to tell it as such. The person who is going to take over for writing will have my notes to go off of. What do I mean by notes? I mean this:

-The exact point by point details of what event is going on in order.
-Why a monster/environment/character/item/etc is there and what future significance it has to the story and its symbolism in the current situation.
-What kind of imagery I am going for and what kind of atmosphere I want around it
-What kind of emotions I want going through the character at the time
-Ensuring that everything is on-par quality wise with at the very least the last few chapters of this story.

Basically what the person taking over the story is doing for me is filling in the gaps: The details and words that I can't get right into the right words I want. Mind you this isn't a decision I'm making lightly, that I just thought over for a little while and didn't try too hard. It's literally a decision I've been fighting against since I put the story on hiatus, since I haven't updated it last. Which has been several months now and I don't want to see the story fall to dust in my hands.

So please don't worry about this ruining any sort of 'integrity' the story had by not being in 'my hands' anymore since it will be! It will 100% be in my hands, I will have final say over how they treat the story, the environment, and the events taking place. This will still be my Silent Ponyville 3.

cool while he or she does that will you make a different fic?

How about directing scenes to various writers so no single person knows what's happening, and no single writer is getting bogged down with work? Just an idea.

I also have another comment in your previous blog post that I'd like you to read if you haven't, but I don't know how to link to a comment. It's #42.

Perfectly reasonable. Silent Ponyville 3 is your project, whomever is fostering it should be expected to keep to your ideas.

I hope you can find a great writer to pick up this story. I trust you judgement in providing a great story.

Awesome idea! I'm looking forward to the next chapter, dude. :pinkiehappy: Take your time!

this is good to hear indeed one of the best crossovers ive ever read on this site was the mlp SH series you made not to mention SP 1 is the first fic id recommend any of my new friends who are getting into mlp fics i havent started 3 yet but im eager all the same :D

 This is good to know, Mr. Heritagu. It certainly clears up any possible concerns to seeking aid from another writer. It's good to see this was thought through so well. I suppose with this, I will quietly and happily await the day when SP3 begins again. No matter how you choose to confront it.

:twilightsheepish: Hmm....though I suppose my comment made on your prior blog now seems a bit hasty. Then again, this blog showed up shortly after I had finished that comment so I suppose in the end it was fine for the brief time, I think... :derpyderp2:

:twilightsheepish: Um.....hehe Well, In anycase, as I said, it's good to know you had put careful thought into this option. But also, as I said in my other comment, whatever you choose will be a choice well respected.

God speed, Jake. No matter the outcome, I'll be there.

Letting go can be hard. Brave author you are. I salute you.

I don't think any of us would have it any other way quite honestly.

Mmm.... This MIGHT be okay, then... It still just doesn't feel right, but it's your story in the end.

This sounds all fine and dandy, but a great director needs to know when to back off and let the writer do his thing. I'm not too worried, but if you take too much charge then nothing will get done.

As long as it's in your image I'm fine.

as long as quality doesnt decline im fine with this or the updates dont take to long thatd be almost a slap i the face ooh new chapter cliffhanger aww NO UPDATE FOR 4 MONTHS BLUEBERRY MUFFINS ARE HIGH ON GRASS
