Thanks+Size Chart and Future Updates · 5:22am Jun 14th, 2016
First off, let me start by saying how thankful and appreciative I am for your support as I am writing this story. It really means a lot to me that you are all enjoying Hollow Shades. Never in a million years would I have thought it could happen, and yet here I am now, and there is just no way that I can thank you all enough for your support, your praise, and your criticism.
You see my profile pic? That right there is a pretty accurate depiction of my reaction when I saw this story get featured. I know it's not the first story I made that got featured (the first was about the episode "The Mane Event", and was probably due to the hype of the episode at the time), but still it was quite the pleasant surprise, and would not have been possible without your support.
Thank you.
And now to the second topic of this post. This was something that has actually been on my mind quite a bit regarding Hollow Shades, specifically Angela's size compared to the ponies of Equestria. At first I did not believe it to be that big of an issue. Angela's big, she's a wraith, the end. But recently, a comment brought to light just how confusing it could be. So I decided to do a little more in depth research regarding the wraith itself. On the Evolve Wiki, the wraith is described as being approximately 6 meters in height. For those not in the know, 1 meter equals about 3.3 feet. That would put the wraith at about 19 to 20 feet in height. Unfortunately the site failed to specify at what stage it would be at during this point in its growth cycle, so let's just assume that at twenty feet tall (which is pretty fing big to be honest) it would be at stage two.
Now let's take a look at the pony side of things. Here's a handy little chart.
As I understand it, the size of the average pony (being Twilight in this case) is somewhere between 4 and 5 feet. That means Twilight is roughly a 5th the size of Angela at stage two. Going off this chart, I found that in the world of MLP, Angela currently comes up to the 6 on the chart, putting her at chest level with the red dragon while she is on the ground while on her knees. Don't get me wrong, that's quite a bit smaller than I originally made her out to be, but still that is pretty sizable.
Taking all of this into consideration, I have come to the conclusion that I have inaccurately described Angela's size, making her bigger than she should be for a stage two wraith. What this means, I have yet to decide. I may go back and change certain things to better fit my findings, or I may just leave it as is and just say that Angela's just larger than average.
And now onto the third and final topic. As I already said in the authors notes of my most recent update, the next chapter of Hollow Shades may be delayed a bit as I am currently trying to get a few updates going for my other stories. However, I have started on the next chapter for Hollow Shades, so it should hopefully not be that long of a wait.
This has been Dilos1, and I thank you for your time.
