Writer's Block Sucks/Slice of Life · 2:39am Sep 5th, 2012
For the past week I have been staring at ch 8 for TINNUTS. I have the idea for it down, but I just can't seem to get it typed out.
To say that I am frustrated is a bit of an understatement.
I think so far, dialogue is my worst enemy. I keep typing out sections of dialogue and I keep erasing them because It sounds weird or uncharacteristic for the ponies involved.
:/
Now to ramble on about my everyday life on the internet:
So my classes this semester are awesome.
Seriously, for example: I am taking a soil analysis class and today we did nothing but play with dirt.
We had to collect 1Kg of soil and today we had used a hydrometer to measure the amount of suspended clays and silts in the soil. However, that took 2 hours to do.
So while that was settling, we had to make mud balls from our soil and use them to feel the texture and use that to try to guess the soil composition and rough estimates of sand/silt/clay percentages.
Other fun classes I'm taking include Forest Ecology, Directed Studies (Analyzing Areal Photography) and Principal Ranglenad Management in Worldwide Applications (kind of a mouthful), and my Soil Science class (and a few other sucky and uninteresting classes I have to take to graduate).
tl;dr: we played with dirt, I just needed some hot wheels cars and I would be reliving my childhood in that lab today.
I still wish i could find a way to get 8 hours sleep every night, instead of 5 hours every night and a couple hours of naps during the day. (getting up at 5:15am every day really destroys any hope of ever sleeping in).
Edit:
I have decided that to get my creative juices flowing again, I may write a one-shot. I may do it. All I can say is that the premise is awful, the execution will be horrible, and that it involves this picture:
Celestia forgive me for what is about to happen...
Also, If any of y'all ever need someone to chat with, feel free to hit me up here.

the acronym for one of your stories is TIN NUTS? that is hilarious. was that intentional?
also: -sings- I got a jar of dirt, I got a jar of dirt...

no it wasn't intentional, but when I saw that acronym I giggled. Plus it's easier to quickly type than "There is Nothing New Under the Sun".
and I really do have a jar of dirt. Well, it's actually more of a coffee can, but so long as it holds my dirt, I don't particularly care.
Also, I had the coffee can of soil in my room for a couple days while it was drying, and I kept expecting someone to accidentally use it to make coffee
