Slice of Life update, and Story Ideas That Didn't Pan Out · 3:43am Nov 6th, 2012
Howdy everyone!
Firstly, I know y'all will be excited to know that the next one and a half installments are pretty much dune for TINNUTS. The Intermission needs to be preread, and CH 10 just needs some more filling out and it's done as well. Expect it to be updated tomorrow or wednesday (depending on tests and work).
I also went ahead and renamed "Discord in Bloom" to "A Discordant Romance". I am about 50%ish on the next chapter for that, but I will keep plugging away at it as I have time.
Now for the next section:
Fics that I thought about writing, but for whatever reason haven't
1) Royal Academy
Premise: An aspiring stallion wants to join the Royal Guard and enrolls at the Equestrian Academy (or some similar important sounding institution).
Reason Why I didn't write it: I thought about writing my experiences in a Senior Military College and putting them into this fic-that-didn't-happen. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized that it would be really, really boring. Sure there were are some interesting things that happen, but it's mostly just going to class and cleaning shit. Needless to say, I didn't think that this would be interesting and I didn't want to write it anymore.
2) Nightmare Poon
Premise: Nightmare Moon has urges too you know. This is how she fins a way to ease them.
Reason Why I Didn't Write it: Well, this was a bad pun off of a fic i saw that was itself a pun off of Nightmare Moon. I thought it would be funny to write a silly little clopfic and fill it with puns. Then I thought about it, and decided that no, I really didn't want to write a clopfic at all. Between my general lack of knowledge in that regard, and my general desire to not write a clopfic this one never panned out. Thankfully.
3) The Name of Regret
Premise: A spy for the Royal Canterlot Espionage Service is retiring. After a lifetime of living under aliases, can he actually lower his facades and be himself?
Reason Why I Didn't Write it: I actually wrote about 1k words into this story. I jotted it down while being a little depressed, and quickly lost interest as my depression went away. Basically though, it would involve this detective learning to be himself again with the help of Pinkie Pie (who would be suffering from having to live up to her reputation as a Party Animal, but feels that other ponies may not accept her for who she really is). I may or may not actually still write this, but for now it has been shelved.
So I have discovered that when I have to study, I get the urge to draw ponies. So as a result, here is another picture of luna sketched in pencil on the back of some old paperwork on my desk.
